I am reposting this just from a pure informational standpoint as it's a good representation of what a live music venue is facing today.

Now I know our league players are not a problem with this stuff w/ the food/beverage issues. And they don't operate the way this place clearly was with bands, and those aren't even sizable bands touring the country, just local/regional acts mostly getting paid bank at a small venue.

But, let me just say: THANK YOU, to each and every one of you. From myself and from Touch of Texas, we ALL appreciate that level of respect and decorum.

Being very familiar with the live music industry, seeing the struggles that are arising every new tour season and what venues are facing and dealing with from every angle, I just wanted to share that insight with y'all.

And to say - we are SO BLESSED with the venue we have, the people who run it and the opportunities we've had because of Touch of Texas. There's no one in this game doing it - who wouldn't give up pretty much everything to have THIS situation. I understood that from day one. I also understand why, and I value that and will protect that.

We have such an incredible venue who supports us and who is big enough to allow us to grow to sizes most leagues will never be able to accommodate just because of space/time restrictions. And we have such a great group of people who all understand that too.

So once again, to each and every one of you - THANK YOU!

After 8 years of getting chased around the co****le fields, she finally caught him.... ;oP

Less than 2 weeks away from the Kickoff classic and less than 3 weeks away from the start of the fall 2026 season and year #9.

I've spent a little time reflecting on all of this, how things began, how things grew organically. I've never changed my approach - just do it, do it right and see what happens. So I can't really say this has ever exceeded my expectations because I never really had any to begin with. ;oP

But, I can say I never would have dreamed it has gotten us to where we are today. As of right now, we're heading into year #9 with 24 teams, 3 Divisions, a few new faces and having the most fun I've had with the game since starting this ride.

That brings me back to all of YOU. The Mother Shuckers. It is so nice to actually look forward to league night, to seeing this collective of humans we have around us, to actually enjoying the game again. I spend a lot of time listening to music, talking music, playing music, seeing music - bands feed off the crowd, crowds feed off the bands and its the same here. Y'all make it worth doing. See you soon....

Good Morning Mother Shuckers,

We saw a couple of youse yesterday at Porchfest. Hope y'all had a good time. Chris B & Co knock it out of the park every year with this event. If you enjoy music and have not been, do yourselves a solid and check it out next year.... If you ever need suggestions on who to see, just ask me, I still know a lot of the music around town.

That said; we are exactly 2 weeks away from The 3rd Annual Elmer Hyde Kickoff Classic and 3 weeks away from the kickoff of the 2026 Fall Season and the start of year #9. We'll do a little something on Monday the 14th to kick off the rust before officially kicking things back off on Monday the 21st.

Get your teams pre-registered. The vast majority of the league is returning but we got room for a couple more teams so if you have not yet confirmed with me, please do so. If you have friends who were interested in playing - let them know - it's now time ;o)

Same 4 player format with a slight change to the final game of the match. Rather than just being a Crew Cup game, we're gonna add 2 other options to this mix - Knockout and Garbage. ;oP

There are plans to bring the Airmail Challenge back too. A few folks have made the request so we'll kick that off on week one too. I'll explain the details then ;o)

Get pre-registered if you have not yet, if you had friends expressing interest let them know to reach out ASAP. We'll see y'all real soon. ;o)

We are inching closer to the fall. Only a couple weeks away. I don't assume anyone is coming back, so if you haven't said hey yet and you're planning to return in the fall, be sure to check in and pre-register.

If you are on the fence because you have life happening around you, we understand. If it's because maybe you got two players but haven't found another 2 or you got 3 and are looking for one more, feel free to reach out as well, we have a few people looking that do not have teams.

Good afternoon Mother Shuckers.

We're about a month away from the start of the Fall 2026 season. Registration is open for the league. Shoot me a txt/PM to sign up. Please be sure to pre-register your teams, it makes life far smoother. No money is due till the opening night on Mon Sept 21st. Cost is $80/team (or $20/player) - for the entire season.

Divisions will be decided once we see what we have to work with. ;oP

The 3rd annual Elmer Hyde Fall Kickoff Classic will be Mon - Sept 14th at 6:30 pm. This will be a night to come throw some bags, get warmed up and kick the rust off. I don't know about all of you but I didn't even bring a set of boards home this summer, so I have no doubt I will be a little rusty.

The league will kickoff the following Monday - Sept 21st at 6:30 pm following the same 4 player team format we have the last 2.5 years with one new change. The last game will still be a team game but now you will have the option to choose what the last game will be - Crew Cup, Garbage or Knockout. This may come with some wrinkles we may have to iron out but I believe it will be a fun addition to the league. ;o)

From The Kickoff Classic to the Feast of Friends it would be a total of 13 weeks with one off in there due to a show they host annually on a fall Monday night.

Get pre-registered, looking forward to seeing your faces again. ;o)

Hello Mother Shuckers.

Hope everybody is having a great summer. We are getting closer to the Fall and getting excited for another season and to see y’all again. I know Touch Of Texas feels the same way. ;o)

The Elmer Hyde Fall Kickoff Classic will be on Monday Sept 14th alongside the opening Monday Night Football game between AFC Rivals the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos. This will be a doubles night, we’ll play some round robin games and then call it a night. This is a fun night to kick off the rust, open to league players past and present.

The Fall 2026 League will kickoff the following Monday, Sept 21st at 6:30 pm.

Again this will be the same 4 player format we’ve been using but this year I am going to make one change to that format. There will still be 4 singles games, 6 doubles games as there have been, but I am kicking around some ideas for the last game of each match. There will be more to come on this. I can definitely say it will not be strictly a "Crew Cup" game. ;o)

The season will run 10 weeks, followed by the Elmer Hyde Feast Of Champions Night. In the mix will be a night we take off for an annual Mon night event Touch of Texas has played host to for several years now. So from The Kickoff Classic to the Feast of Champions it will be 13 weeks total.

Nobody is "required" to be at the Kickoff Classic. that is for anyone who wants to come and throw a week before. We just have some fun, throw some bags for a couple hours and get used to throwing inside again before we kick the league off.

Pre-Register your teams by Sept 1st and the cost is $80/team ($20/player). After Sept 1st it’s $100 ($25/player). Get on the ball and save a few bucks. Registration will officially close on Monday Sept 14th at the conclusion of the Kickoff Classic - this way I have time to adjust anything & get the schedules set up and ready for opening night. No money will be due till Opening Night but it makes EVERYTHING a lot smoother when teams are all pre-registered and everything is ready to go when we come in that first night.

To Pre-register your teams you can post on this post, shoot me a PM or an email.

PS: I have the Champs Jerseys in hand if anyone wants to catch up before the Fall shoot me a PM and we’ll figure it out.

Photos from Mother Shuckers Co****le League's post 07/19/2026

It is always a pleasure working with Andrew, Jenna and the wonderful human beings involved with the CSEA Community Outreach Program. This is our 4th year and we're already looking at dates for next year.

I could write a book about why Andy will always have a very special place in the heart of not only myself but the Mother Shuckers Co****le League. And Jenna too - amazing human beings, communicators and organizers. I know what goes into this kind of successful event. It doesn't happen without great communication, open & honest communication and good people willing to do the hard work that few see.

Y'all are truly blessed to have 2 people like that within your organization. It is an honor to be part of this event and I look forward to the 5th annual ;o)

That said we did play some co****le yesterday. Ran a few round robin games so every one got some games in before launching a single elimination tournament to play it out. Only one snafu before the tournament - This app is amazing but every so often they move stuff to some obscure point and that's what happened, lol. Once I got on chat with them - with Andy as my witness it literally took 30 seconds to correct and get the tournament rolling, ahhh technology. ;o)

It all came down to some familiar faces: CSEA alums Brian & Tom returning champs from last year back to defend their crown. Marcia & Amy who have been part of the league since the opening night back in 2018. Some newer faces who joined us last season Walker & Mike and some friends from my days ruling the softball diamond - Keith (and Amber - love you guys) & Pete who all made the semi final round.

It was Brain & Tom and Marcia & Amy who advanced to the finals where the defending champs would repeat the feat and take home the gold. Marcia & Amy had a hard fought battle in grabbing the silver. And it was Walker & Mike who would duke it out with Keith & Pete (aka: "not" 2 and a BBQ) for the Bronze where Walker & Mike sent them to the BBQ....

It was a lot of fun running this event, seeing the smiles, hearing the laughs, the good hearted smack talking - putting the FUN in FUNdraiser....

Thank you to everybody who came out yesterday to support the the event. Incredible baskets - a UTV, man, you guys go all out. And if you missed out yesterday you can reach out to Jenna or Andy for more info on purchasing raffle tickets for the Thanksgiving Day Bills vs Chiefs tickets. Two of the best teams in the AFC, Mahomes has something to prove, Kelce has something to prove, he isn't gonna want to go out a loser, Josh Allen has something to prove and wants that Superbowl so bad. Thanksgiving Day - brand new Bills Stadium and who knows maybe a Taylor Swift sighting for all you Swifties - this game is gonna be ELECTRIC. Hit them up if you missed out on ticket chances yesterday.

And last but certainly not least - thank you to Keven and the whole Touch of Texas staff for everything you do for us, for the community around us. Without you, we wouldn't be here doing things like this. Together. Thank you.

Much love and light....
