Recognizing and dealing with money dysmorphia 06/29/2026

Ever heard of Money Dysmorphia? It's this idea that you feel behind financially when you're really in good shape. I had the chance to talk about it on Good Day LA recently.

Recognizing and dealing with money dysmorphia If you worry about money when the numbers say you shouldn't, you're not alone. It's something called money dysmorphia. Financial expert Shannah Game, author of 'Unraveling Your Relationship With Money', stopped by to talk about this very real phenomenon.

I Should Be Further Along Financially By Now 06/29/2026

So excited to launch my new YouTube series, Bake It Out. My first episode digs into a juicy topic: thinking I should be further along financially. Maybe you might've felt this way too. Enjoy!

I haven’t posted in a long time because, honestly, I’ve been trying to figure out what I’m actually trying to say.

And I think it’s this:
Money isn’t just math. It’s your nervous system. It’s shame. It’s identity. It’s the woman you thought you’d be by now. It’s the bank account you avoid even when you know you “should” look.

I’m a CFP® who hid from her own bank account for 7 years — so this isn’t me standing above you with a spreadsheet. This is me saying, “I get it.”

So I’m starting something called Bake It Out, baking, money, midlife, and the truths we usually keep to ourselves.

If you’ve ever felt like you should be further along by now, come sit at the counter. We’re going to bake it out together.

Follow along — the series launches on YouTube this month.

Money isn’t just numbers for women like us.

It’s identity.
It’s hormones.
It’s the receipts of every version of ourselves we’ve ever been.

If your spending feels emotional lately, that’s not a flaw — that’s a story asking to be rewritten.

And when you change the story, your whole financial life changes with it.

Was your wallet trembling this weekend? Mine too. 👀

On I shared how to stop the emotional spending spiral before it steals your peace (and your January).

You deserve joy — not a holiday hangover. Watch the rest of the segment on website.

If guilt were a financial strategy, we’d all be rich by now. 😅

and .donnelly invited me to talk about Financial Forgiveness™—the first step in what I call The Emotional Economy™.

Because let’s be real: you can’t budget your way out of shame. You have to feel it, name it, and then forgive it.

Start small. Start today.

That’s where every money reset begins. 💛

Sometimes, the world tells you to “get it together.”

My advice? Bake cupcakes instead.

These gluten-free lemon cupcakes for one (well, two… because joy should always have seconds) are part of my new series Cupcakes for One — a little love letter to the women who are rebuilding, reimagining, and finding themselves again in the middle of it all.

I started baking when my life felt too heavy to fix.

The money stress. The burnout. The identity unraveling.

Cupcakes became my way back — one soft batch at a time.

Because here’s the truth: money and emotions are baked from the same ingredients — care, shame, hunger, and hope.

When you start to understand one, you start to heal the other.

So, if you’ve ever cried into a mixing bowl, welcome.

We’re rewriting what enough looks (and tastes) like. 💛

GF Lemon Cupcakes (makes 2)
3 tbsp gluten-free 1:1 flour (King Arthur or Cup4Cup)
