In operation since 2009, the Maryland Summer Wrestling League provides an opportunity for wrestlers of all ages and experience levels to get on the mat and improve their folkstyle wrestling technique. Each summer we provide five hour-long clinics lead by amazing local coaches as well as dual meet and tournament wrestling.

Just getting caught up on the Justin Wildy Sr - 2025 Week 3 Clinic from two weeks ago. I'm sorry to say that we did not get as many pictures/videos of the clinics as usual. Being the first full week of summer for MCPS and having two full teams away for camp put a little hit on our attendance. We scraped the dual meets and just went with Madison groups of 3 for live wrestling. We were trying to figure out the best way to pivot during the clinics and didn't get a chance to capture any of Tim Lowe working level changes and doubles to pins with the beginners. We did get a few pictures and videos(coming soon) of Justin Wildy Sr. and his crew walking the advanced clinic through a neutral series out of an underhook with multiple finishing options. A huge thank you to Coach Wildy for coming out to work with our wrestlers again! As our girls numbers continue to grow(25+ this summer!) we love having a collegiate girls coach in the room showing techniques that can help everyone improve. After a very timely off-week last week when the temps were in the triple digits, we're back on for a forecasted "cool" session tomorrow. We can't wait to see what Coach Youssif Hemida has in store for us and to get back to the duals!

Just a reminder that we are OFF this week. No clinic and no duals today! We'll be back for Week 4 next Thursday, 7/9! Enjoy the holiday weekend and try to keep cool!

We're back on for Week 3 tonight, but we wanted to extend an extra thank you to Coach Nick Arnone for coming out to run a week of the novice clinic for a third year in a row. Whether you are a beginner or a returning state champ, Coach Arnone can help you improve and we appreciate him coming back year after year to work with our wrestlers. He and another one of our clinicians, Rob Whittles are joining forces in July to run what is expected to be a top-notch day camp out of Sherwood HS. Both of these guys have been recognized by the Washington Post as Coach of the Year in the past so, it will be hard to find better coaching in the area. If you're interested, sign up ASAP!

We had another "bonus clinician" in Week 2! American University Wrestling Asst Coach Joey Dance brought with him a special guest to help out - 2026 EIWA Champ and NCAA All-American, Caleb Campos! Both Campos and Coach Dance kept most of the advanced clinic focused on the finer points of the low-single, showing our more experienced wrestlers how to beat an opponents whizzer, along with some high percentage finishes that minimize scrambling. I only saw a little bit of Coach Nick Arnone's work with the novice clinic but it looked like some hammerlocks and other top work were being reviewed. Love me some hammerlock!
Thanks to both Coach Dance and Campos from AU for putting together another quality advanced clinic and to Coach Arnone for showing the beginners something they probably hadn't had the chance to work before. We'll get since video posted soon!

A few more clips from the Carter Nogle - 2026 Week 1 Clinic. More in the comments!

All MSWL wrestlers got a little more than we advertised at the Carter Nogle - 2026 Week 1 Clinic! Not only did Carter show a variety of techniques from leg riding to takedowns and some throws(videos coming soon)but, he brought his brother, Coleman Nogle to help out with the clinic! Two D1 wrestlers in the house representing Air Force Academy and Harvard to open the season! And John Nogle was floating around helping out too! What more could you ask for? A big thank you to the whole Nogle crew for bringing all their knowledge back to MD and passing some of it on to the next crop of MD wrestlers! Coach Whittles had some unexpected car issues and couldn't make the novice clinic but, no problem there either. McDaniel wrestler and former MSWL participant, Lincoln Wendel stepped in to make sure the newer wrestlers got their work in too. Thanks for jumping in Lincoln! It was an awesome first clinic of the season! AND we got about 200 matches wrestled to close out the night!

We have a LOT to get caught up on from the first two weeks of the MSWL! We've had some "surprise" clinicians on top of Carter Nogle and Coach Joey Dance! We've had 200+ wrestlers on the mat getting better each week! We've wrestled 20 dual meets and seen about 400 or so individual matches wrestled! It's tough to know where to start posting! But this seems like as good a place as any...Carter closed out his Week 1 clinic by giving everyone a first hand look at his viral throw from the NCAA Tournament. If you haven't seen it, go check it out on the Air Force Wrestling page, or I'm sure it's on Flo. More clinician clips and photo dumps coming soon!

All MSWL participants are getting a bonus clinician in Week 2! Coach Joey Dance will still be running the show but, he's bringing with him All-American Caleb Campos! Campos is coming off a fantastic season including an EIWA championship and a 4th-place finish at this year's NCAA Tournament. We really appreciate our friends at American University Wrestling giving our wrestlers a two-for-one deal!
AU is offering a camp from July 14th-17th for wrestlers of all skill levels. If you're interested in attending sign up quick! Space are very limited! Check out the flyer below!
