Bergenfield Wrestling is proud to announce that District Champion and State Qualifier Muhammed Tafida has committed to continue his academic and athletic career at Bergen Community College.
•
Muhammed’s journey is a testament to hard work, perseverance, and dedication. He started this sport late but, through countless hours on the mat he has earned the opportunity to compete at the next level while pursuing his education.
•
We are incredibly proud of everything he has accomplished and excited to watch him continue to grow as a student-athlete with the Bulldogs.
•
The legacy continues.

🚨 OPEN MATS ARE BACK 🚨

The work doesn’t stop when the season ends.
•
Starting June 29th, Bergenfield Wrestling Open Mats will run Monday–Thursday from 6:00 PM–8:00 PM.
•
This is an opportunity for our wrestlers to sharpen their skills, get quality mat time, improve conditioning, and continue building the culture that helped us achieve one of our most successful seasons in over a decade.
•
Champions are built in the offseason. The athletes who make the biggest jumps next season will be the ones putting in the work now.
•
Be there. Be consistent. Be ready.

Today, the Bergenfield Bears Football and Wrestling programs came together for a great cause — honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedoms. 🇺🇸
•
This Memorial Day, our athletes participated in the “Murph” workout — a challenging workout named in honor of Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy, who gave his life in service during Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan. Murph consists of:
• 1 mile run
• 100 pull-ups
• 200 push-ups
• 300 air squats
• 1 mile run
The workout is meant to test mental toughness, discipline, and perseverance — but more importantly, it serves as a way to remember and honor those who sacrificed everything for this country.
•
Today wasn’t about comfort. It was about pushing ourselves to do hard things together in remembrance of those who gave it all for our liberties and way of life. We sacrifice our comfort for a small moment to honor those whose sacrifices can never truly be repaid.

Discipline. Honor. Sacrifice.

This young woman battled all season long and fell just short in a tough region—one that produced three state placers in her bracket.

She finishes the year with 36 wins and cements her legacy as Bergenfield’s all-time winningest female wrestler.
•
Congratulations again on an outstanding season, your 2nd Team All-County honors, and an incredible career.
