Joyeuse St-Valentin

Here’s what a typical training week has looked like since the end of my off-season. I’ve been gradually increasing specificity & intensity, and this trend will continue until the start of the gravel season in early March.

Day 1: 2h30 indoor trainer workout including VO2 (±20min total, over/under structured) followed by low threshold (±40min total, including low cadence anaerobic start).

Day 2: 5h Endurance (Z1&2) Fat Bike with 8 x 3sec peak power (w/ full recovery btw sprints) at the end.

Day 3: 3h Fat Bike ride, including between 2h and 2h30 at the top of Z2 (LT1).

Day 4: Strength Training, first 70-80min = heavy and speed focus (w/ friends), last 30-40min = core and mobility.

Day 5: 40min recovery skiing (mostly just to get outside).

Day 6: 6h Endurance (Z1&2) Fat Bike (w/ friends) including ±60min at tempo (including variation) at the end.

Day 7: 4h30 Volume (Z1) backcountry skiing (w/ friends).

Especially at this time of the year, I’m willing to trade specificity for enjoyment and adjust my training around those fun training days. Personally, having the flexibility to train with friends and include skiing in my training helps maintain motivation (by increasing enjoyment & meaning) and creates great memories as a bonus.

Last time looking back at 2025.

I’m grateful to announce that almost all of my partners will stay the same for 2026. 🤝 I’ll be announcing everyone on board for the 2026 season in the following weeks.

The only major equipment change this year is wheels (announcement very soon!), so I wanted to dedicate this post to , for the A+ support over the last 2 years. It’s been an absolute privilege to represent DT.

To all the people & brands below, thank you for making 2025 a very successful one.
