Aging is a privilege.
Aging strong is a choice. 💥

Osteoporosis. Osteopenia. Arthritis. 😳
The words nobody wants to hear...
It’s no secret: MOVEMENT is medicine.

Osteoporosis and osteopenia don’t have to mean fragility. Weight-bearing movement, balance work, and strength training can help build and protect bone strength.
And what’s one of the best things you can do for arthritis? KEEP MOVING.

Look at these women crushing their workout — hopping, jumping, balancing, strengthening, and working their upper backs for better posture.

This is what healthy aging looks like. Always amazed and proud of watching these ladies show up for themselves 💕

In our group classes, you’ll work with the Pilates principles of breath, concentration, centering, and control while building greater body awareness and confidence.
It’s about connecting the mind and body so you can move with more balance—not just in your workout, but in everyday life.

Great Pilates instruction isn’t simply about knowing the exercises. It’s about learning to see and teach the body in front of you.

Movement Principles is where anatomy meets movement—and teaching begins.

Join me August 29 & 30 for Movement Principles, the foundational module in the Balanced Body Pilates teacher training program.

This course is for aspiring students taking their first step toward becoming a Pilates instructor, as well as seasoned instructors who want to deepen their understanding of the body and refine their teaching skills.

You’ll learn to look beyond the exercises—to observe alignment, movement, and imbalances, and understand how the body works as a whole. You’ll also build the foundational skills and understanding that prepare you to progress into the Pilates repertoire.

Because great Pilates instruction isn’t just about knowing the exercises.
It’s about truly seeing the person in front of you.

Pilates made you move better. Strength training helps you stay stronger.

Together, they’re the perfect combination.
Pilates builds the foundation—better posture, balance, mobility, control, and body awareness.

Strength training builds on that foundation by increasing muscle mass, improving bone density, and helping you stay strong for everything life asks of you.

Whether you’re lifting groceries, hiking, skiing, golfing, chasing grandkids, or simply wanting to age with confidence, strength matters.

When you combine strength training with Pilates, you don’t just get stronger—you move better while you’re getting stronger. 💙

Move well. Stay strong. Live fully.

Ask one of our instructors how adding a 30-minute strength training session can complement your Pilates practice.

One of the greatest privileges of being a Pilates instructor is earning a client’s trust with their body.

I always tell my teacher trainees:
You have 55 minutes to help that body feel better than it did when it walked through the door.

Not by doing the hardest exercises.
Not by checking boxes.
But by observing.
What muscles aren’t contributing?
What areas are potentially overworking?
Where can we create more balance, more ease, and more economy of movement?

Every body is just as unique on the inside as they are on the outside. We all have different movement habits, asymmetries, strengths, and compensation patterns.

The magic of Pilates is learning how to choose the right exercise, at the right time, for the right person.

That level of specificity changes outcomes. And it’s the kind of teaching that comes from a deep understanding of both the body in front of you and the Pilates system as a whole.

If you’ve been thinking about becoming an instructor—or simply want to deepen your knowledge—our Balanced Body Movement Principles course begins next month at Bend Pilates. It’s where your Pilates teaching journey begins.
✨ Learn to see movement differently.
✨ Learn to teach with purpose.
✨ Learn to change lives—one 55-minute session at a time.

If you think Pilates is just about core strength... think again!

Instructor Shawn Clary is working 1:1 with Antoinette to build better balance, stability, strength, and confidence.
✨ Kneeling arm work challenges balance while improving posture and strengthening the shoulders, biceps, triceps, and the deep muscles that stabilize the torso.
✨ Short Box Side Overs increase mobility through the spine while strengthening the obliques, lower back, and deep core muscles that support everyday movement.

But the real magic isn’t just the exercises.
It’s the relationship between teacher and student. Through trust, communication, and individualized coaching, every session is designed to help clients move better, feel stronger, and reach their personal goals.
That’s the power of 1:1 Pilates. 💙

There’s something really special about seeing an entire family make movement a priority. 💙

Emma teaches her mom, dad, brother, and even her husband here at Bend Pilates. Watching them support each other, spend quality time together, and build strength along the way is so fun to see.

In this reel, Emma is leading her mom through Bridge Marches on the Reformer—a great exercise for strengthening the posterior chain while improving core stability and control.

Strong families. Healthy habits. Smiles all around. ✨
