Heads up! The Larkspur pool and hot tub will close August 29 through September 9 for planned maintenance. Impacts include water fitness classes, lap swim and working out on your own time in the pool. Check the Juniper Swim and Fitness schedule at www.bendparksandrec.org for alternate opportunities.

In addition, parking lots are receiving maintenance:
-- Monday, August 31: Larkspur's west parking lot (off 15th St.) partially closed.
-- Tuesday, September 1: Larkspur's east parking lot (off Reed Market Rd.) partially closed.
Above dates are weather-dependent.

Did you know Larkspur Trail connects you to five eastside parks and trail systems? This 3.9-mile trail runs from Larkspur Park to Neff Road, linking to the Central Oregon Historic Canal Trail, Pilot Butte Neighborhood Park, Pilot Butte State Park and the Coyner Trail (with even more connections to Ponderosa Park, Juniper Park and Juniper Swim & Fitness Center). Feeling ambitious? Add a mile by climbing to the summit of Pilot Butte. Dog-friendly and mostly off-street. Find it at bendparksandrec.org/trail/larkspur-trail/

Looking for some smoke-free air? Juniper Swim & Fitness Center and Larkspur Community Center have you covered. Open daily with plenty of fitness and swim options, both facilities are available on those less-than-fresh air days. BPRD's weekly free educational seminar series is on summer hiatus, but the September calendar is coming soon. The first Lunch & Learn of the 2026-27 season is Tuesday, September 15.

Lunch & Learns are offered most Tuesdays, September through May, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. in Larkspur Community Center’s Multi-purpose Room. Bring your lunch or pick up a snack at Larkspur Cafe; dessert and coffee are provided.

Towel off - It’s a small step that makes a big difference in everyone's safety!

A reminder to all pool users to towel off before leaving the pool deck. Wet feet and dripping swimsuits can make locker room and hallway floors slippery, increasing the risk of falls.

Please help keep the centers safe and dry by toweling off thoroughly before entering these areas.

➡️ The Library Book Club: Wednesday, August 19, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. in Classroom 2. This month’s book is The Wildest Sun by Asha Lemmie. Hosted by the Deschutes Public Library and open to all.
➡️ Technology Troubleshooting: Wednesday, August 19, 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the Senior Center Lobby. Free technology support offered by experts from the Deschutes Public Library.
➡️ Connection Café: Thursday, August 20, 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. in Classroom 3 at Larkspur. Grief support group facilitated by The Peaceful Presence Project.
