Gino McGee has made tremendous strides throughout the season, and his growth is a direct reflection of his hard work and dedication. He has developed into a confident guard who impacts the game in multiple ways offensively, consistently stepping up in key moments while creating opportunities for his teammates.

One of Gino’s greatest strengths is his shooting ability. When left open, he has the confidence and skill to knock down perimeter shots and make defenses pay. In addition to his scoring, he has continued to evolve as a playmaker, doing an excellent job attacking the defense and creating open looks for others.

Gino’s commitment, coachability, and willingness to improve have allowed him to take major steps forward as a player. He is a talented guard with a bright future, and his continued development will make him an even greater asset for the SoTG Hurricanes moving forward.

Xavier Lilton is a c/o 2031 prospect out of West Jr High School who made a major impact on both ends of the floor this past weekend, earning himself the Hurricane of the of the weekend. X’s high motor, length, and athleticism helped him stand out every time he steps on the court. X consistently brought energy, competed hard, and made winning plays. One of the biggest strengths in X’s game has been his growth throughout the season. From the start of the year until now, he has shown tremendous improvement and confidence in his game. This past weekend, X dedicated his performance to his great-grandfather, playing with passion, toughness, and purpose every minute he was on the floor.

c/o 2032 PG, Shemaul ‘SJ’ White is an exciting 6th grade point guard who brought energy and toughness every time he stepped on the floor, earning himself the Hurricane of the weekend. A crafty playmaker with a strong handle, SJ attacked the basket with confidence and got downhill at will. He’s continued to develop his jump shot and has displayed the ability to consistently knock down threes, making him a tough matchup for defenders all weekend. On the defensive end, SJ competed hard, applied pressure, and created momentum-changing plays for his team. His hustle, scoring ability, and spark off both ends of the court made him a key piece to the team’s successful weekend.

c/o 2033 PG, Dallas Harris is a tough and fearless 5th grade point guard who made a huge impact on both ends of the floor throughout the tourney, this past weekend. Despite being one of the smaller players on the court, he played with resilience, confidence, and nonstop energy. Dallas was a true pest on defense, creating havoc with his quick hands and anticipation, turning steals into easy transition points for his team. Offensively, he handled the ball exceptionally well and controlled the pace with confidence. As he consistently knocked down 3s, Dallas became an even bigger threat every time he stepped on the court, earning himself the Hurricane of the weekend.

c/o 2030 PG, Kaden Walker had a strong weekend tournament performance as a quick, defensive-minded point guard who impacted the game with his energy and toughness. He applied relentless on-ball pressure, forced turnovers, and made opposing guards uncomfortable all weekend. Offensively, Walker controlled the pace, pushed the ball in transition, and created opportunities for teammates. His speed, hustle, and defensive presence made him a key contributor throughout the tournament, earning himself the Hurricane of the weekend.

c/o 2030 SF, Jordon Leatherwood makes his biggest impact through his defensive and rebounding prowess while also providing a reliable scoring threat from the perimeter, earning himself the Hurricane of the weekend. The versatile small forward brings relentless energy on every possession, taking pride in locking down opponents and doing the dirty work that leads to wins. His toughness, instincts, and motor allow him to defend multiple positions while consistently disrupting passing lanes, contesting shots, and forcing difficult possessions. On the glass, Jordon attacks rebounds with aggression and determination, creating extra possessions for his team and limiting second-chance opportunities for opponents. Offensively, he stretches the floor by consistently knocking down corner 3s, making defenses pay when left open. His physicality, hustle, and team-first mentality make him a true difference maker every time he steps on the court.

c/o 2031, Grant Swierczek is a player who impacts the game on every level and consistently does the little things that help teams win, earning him the Hurricanes of the weekend. His high effort and relentless motor stand out every time he steps on the court, bringing energy, toughness, and intensity on both ends of the floor. Grant has developed into a very strong shooter and has shown major improvement over the past year, continuing to elevate every aspect of his game through hard work and dedication. Beyond scoring, he understands how to contribute in multiple ways — whether it’s making the extra pass, defending, rebounding, hustling for loose balls, or creating winning plays that don’t always show up in the box score. He is the type of player coaches trust because of his selfless mindset, work ethic, and ability to positively impact the game without needing to be the primary scorer.
