August was BUSY, BUSY, BUSY! 💪🐶 We’ve been hard at work training so many wonderful pups, and we couldn’t be happier watching their confidence grow, their skills improve, and their families get to enjoy a whole new level of freedom together! ❤️

🇺🇸 SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 — WE WILL NEVER FORGET 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the incredible bravery shown by first responders, service members, rescue workers, and everyday Americans on September 11th.

We also remember the incredible search-and-rescue dogs and their handlers who worked tirelessly at Ground Zero and the Pentagon—entering dangerous conditions, searching through rubble, and providing comfort during one of our nation’s darkest moments. 🐾❤️

25 years later, we continue to honor their courage, sacrifice, and service.

From all of us at Off Leash K9 Training, Jersey Shore, we remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🎓🐾 ANOTHER ROUND OF AMAZING GRADUATES! 🐾🎓

We are SO proud of these pups and all the hard work they put in during their training! ❤️ But graduation day isn’t the finish line—it’s the beginning of taking everything they learned home and making it part of everyday life.

One of the most important things we stress to our Board & Train families is that a Board & Train is not a one-time fix. Our trainers put in the time to teach your dog the commands, structure, boundaries, and expectations—but owners have an important job too!

At turnover, we teach YOU how to continue that training at home. Consistency matters. You have to reinforce the commands, maintain the boundaries, and follow through with what your trainer taught you. 🐕💪

And if you start struggling, please reach out! Our Board & Train programs include FREE refresher training for one year for exactly this reason. We want your dog to continue succeeding long after graduation—but you have to be willing to reach out, accept the help, and put the work in at home too. ❤️

We’re a team: trainer + dog + owner. When everyone does their part, that’s where the magic happens! 🙌🐾

Day 1 of Finn's 2 Week Board & Train 🐾❤️

The first day isn’t about pushing training—it’s about adjusting, building trust, and getting comfortable in a brand-new environment. 🏡

This little one is settling into her 2-Week Board & Train and already discovering that her trainer’s home means cozy blankets, new friends, lots of love, and plenty of attention. 🥰

We give our dogs time to decompress, learn their new routine, and realize they’re in a safe place before the real work begins. Happy, comfortable dogs learn best! 💪🐶

🇺🇸🐾 LABOR DAY WEEKEND IS COMING! 🐾🇺🇸

Labor Day means one last big summer weekend — BBQs, beach days, boating, parties, family, friends… and of course, our DOGS! 🐶☀️

While you’re enjoying the long weekend, don’t forget a few important reminders to keep your pup safe:

🐾 WATCH THE HEAT — September can still be HOT! Keep fresh water available, provide shade and never leave your dog in a parked car.

🔥 KEEP DOGS AWAY FROM THE GRILL — Hot grills, grease, bones, skewers and dropped food can turn a fun BBQ into an emergency vet visit.

🌭 SKIP THE PEOPLE FOOD — Alcohol, chocolate, grapes, onions, fatty foods and cooked bones can all be dangerous for dogs.

🚪 WATCH OPEN DOORS & GATES — More guests = more opportunities for a dog to slip out. Make sure collars and ID tags are secure and microchip information is current.

🎆 BE READY FOR FIREWORKS — Some neighborhoods celebrate with fireworks all weekend. Keep nervous dogs safely inside and give them a quiet place to relax.

🚤 BOAT & WATER SAFETY — Not every dog is a strong swimmer! Use a properly fitted dog life jacket around deep water and on boats.

🐕 LEASH UP! — Even a normally reliable dog can become distracted by crowds, food, other dogs, wildlife or loud noises. Training is important, but good management matters too!

Training isn’t just for “bad” dogs! Even naturally well-behaved dogs benefit from structured training.

🌫️ Air Quality Alert for Ocean County Dog Owners 🐾

Smoke from the Canadian wildfires has made its way into New Jersey, causing poor air quality across Ocean County. While we all enjoy getting outside with our dogs, today is a good reminder that they can be affected by smoke just like we can.

If your dog has asthma, breathing issues, is a senior, a puppy, or is a flat-faced breed (Bulldogs, Pugs, Frenchies, etc.), it's especially important to limit outdoor activity until air quality improves.

🐶 Help Keep Your Dog Safe:
✅ Keep walks short and avoid strenuous exercise.
✅ Provide plenty of fresh water.
✅ Keep windows closed if smoke is noticeable.
✅ Wipe your dog's paws and coat after being outside.
✅ Watch for coughing, watery eyes, heavy panting, or unusual tiredness.
✅ If your dog seems to be struggling to breathe, contact your veterinarian immediately.

Your dog's health comes first. Training can always wait a day—keeping them safe can't. ❤️

It's been a busy month over here, and we apologize for the delay in sharing all of these amazing pups! These are just a handful of our recent graduates, and we couldn't be prouder of each and every one of them.

Every dog came to us with their own unique personality and training goals, and it's been incredible watching them grow in confidence, obedience, and communication with their families.

Congratulations to all of our recent graduates! 🎉 Thank you to every family who trusted us with your best friend. We can't wait to see all of your continued success at home and out in the real world!
