Global Hapkido Association This is the official page of the Global Hapkido Association (GHA). Created by GHA Board Members of Battle Creek, MI, U.S.A. in 2013.

The Global Hapkido Association (GHA) was founded by Grand Master Lee in 2013. His vision was to expand the martial arts community of Hapkido not just nationally, but globally. He promotes Hapkido but respects and welcomes every martial art to join our organization. On April 17 of 2014, GHA signed a Cooperative Agreement with Myongji University of South Korea.

Ancient history meets active meditation in Gyeongju. 🏛️✨
We started our day exploring the breathtaking Silla Kingdom relics at the Gyeongju National Museum, then headed up into the mountains to Golgulsa Temple. Practicing Seonmudo—a traditional martial art and moving meditation—alongside the resident monks carved in the cliffside was an unforgettable, grounding experience. 🇰🇷🧘‍♂️

Day four is ideal for driving. A stop in Gyeongju—the capital of the Silla Dynasty and home to the Tombs of the Kings, which date from the third to the tenth century C.E.—breaks up the journey from Seoul to Busan and gives us the chance to experience one of Korea’s most historic cities before continuing on to Busan. 😎 🚌 ☀️

Continuing our KIMAS 2026 Korea adventure! 🇰🇷✨
After diving into our intensive martial arts training and taking in incredible local sights like Nanta and Lotte World, it was time to step into the kitchen for a true cultural immersion: a Traditional Korean Cooking Class! 🍲🥢
Learning how to craft authentic Korean flavors from scratch gave us a whole new appreciation for the culture, discipline, and detail behind traditional Korean cuisine.

Kickstarting day one of our training sessions with incredible energy! 🥋💥
We hit the mats running with intensive Hapkido modules, diving deep into dynamic kicking, break falls, traditional forms, and high-impact self-defense techniques.
To wrap up an amazing day, dedicated students from Mexico 🇲🇽 and Australia 🇦🇺 stepped up to test for their next belt ranks. They put it all on the line in front of an international board of masters representing the USA 🇺🇸, Spain 🇪🇸, Australia 🇦🇺, Mexico 🇲🇽, and Korea 🇰🇷.
Huge congratulations to everyone who tested today—the discipline and focus on display set the bar high for the rest of the week! 👊

To wrap up day one, we took the group to unwind at the incredible Nanta theater show! 🎭🥁
It was full of energy, non-stop laughter, and amazing percussion—the perfect way to celebrate together off the mats! 🍲✨

We also had a great meeting with GHA México masters and school owners, planning future championships, competitions, and major seminars ahead.

Today we lived a historic moment for our great Hapkido family.

With great pride, we celebrated the inauguration of the new Hapkido school in Xilotzingo, a place created to develop martial artists with discipline, respect, leadership, and an indomitable spirit.

We also had the honor of holding our very first Black Belt Examination Ceremony, an event filled with emotion, effort, and pride for all our students and their families.

We were honored by the presence of our highest international authorities:
🥋 Hee Kwan Lee, Founder President of Global Hapkido Association.
🥋 Adrián García, President of Latin America for GHA.
🥋 Francisco García Avila, President of GHA Mexico and founder of the Mexican Hapkido Association.

Thank you to all the students, families, instructors, and masters who made this incredible beginning possible.
This is only the start of a new era for Hapkido in Puebla.
