Do you support your people equally, or only the ones you think will be your next opportunity?

It’s easy to champion the newest star. The biggest opportunity. The person who might make you look good. But leadership isn’t a revolving door of favorites. The real test is what happens to the people who aren’t currently shiny or convenient.

Are you still investing in them? Still listening? Still making space for them to grow?

Yoga asks us to practice ahimsa: not causing harm through how we treat others. Maybe that belongs in leadership, too. People aren’t opportunities to collect. They’re people to lead, support, and grow.

Apparently, teaching the class does not exempt the teacher from feeling the class. 😂

I created it.
I taught it.
I demonstrated it.
And now… I’m sore from it. 😂😂😂

Still worth it. 🧘‍♀️💚

You don’t have to be experienced to be a leader. Young leaders bring something experience can’t always provide: fresh perspective.

Leadership challenge:
Can you lead with confidence while staying humble enough to keep learning?

The hardest person to lead might be yourself. Yoga calls this svadhyaya: self-study.

Pause. Notice your patterns. Own your part. Choose one thing to do differently. Then make it accountable.

Self-awareness becomes leadership when it changes how we show up.

Yoga teaches us satya: truthfulness. Leadership requires it, too. Trust grows through mutual transparency.

You can’t expect others to share what they know while holding back what you know. You can’t ask for openness while keeping people in the dark.

Leadership challenge: Are you practicing the transparency you expect from others?

Yoga teaches us that strength isn’t rigidity. Leadership is no different.

If you ask for support, you have to be willing to receive it. If you ask for feedback, you have to make space to hear it.

You don’t have to agree. But you do have to listen.

So ask yourself: Am I truly open to support,
or only to the kind that doesn’t challenge me?

Sometimes the practice is softening enough to learn.

Maybe the real yoga practice is where you choose to place your attention every day. Are you being intentional with your attention or do you find yourself chasing squirrels?

On the mat, we practice noticing.

Off the mat, we get to decide what deserves our attention, what we give our energy to, and what we allow to shape us.

For me, yoga is being honest in my thoughts, genuine in my words, intentional in my actions, and present enough to notice where my attention is going.

It’s been a real struggle lately. That’s why we call it a practice. Every breath is another opportunity to refocus and try again.
