Join us this Tuesday for our upcoming Arts and Crafts Club! This week, we’ll be making leaf, bark, and insect rubbings using rubbing plates and things we find in the park!

If you have leaves or bark that you’d like to bring from somewhere else to use, please do!

This is a FREE, DROP IN program. Arts and Crafts Club happens each Tuesday, from 10:30 to 11:30, until August 25th.

Do you work in an industry where you’re doing a lot of heavy lifting? The Town of Lysander and Oswego Health are partnering to bring free hernia screenings to attendees of the Big Rigs Show and Volunteer Recruitment Festival, providing convenient access to specialized healthcare while celebrating the community’s first responders, volunteers, and families.

The free screenings will be offered by Dr. Michael Danise, board-certified general surgeon with Oswego Health Medical Practice, during the event on July 11th, from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

The Lysander Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an individual to fill a Parks and Recreation Summer Aide position.

The duties of this position involves the routine supervision and care of the grounds and facilities of Lysander Park to provide a recreational environment for park patrons that is clean and safe. Under supervision of the Director of Parks and Recreation, or designee the individual in this title is required to work a varying schedule which will include evenings, weekends and holidays. When required to work alone the individual in this title will be expected to self-direct shift duties from a list of routine tasks and non-routine tasks provided by the Director or designee, and to perform in the best interest of Lysander Park, it’s representatives, and patrons.

This week, we’ll have a brand new book for our Stroll into a Story program! We’re proud to announce that our newest addition to this program is “The Animal Song” by Jonty Howley!

Stroll into a Story happens every Friday and Saturday, from 9:00am to 2:00pm at Lysander Park. Take a stroll down the trail and read a book as you walk! This program was made in collaboration with the Baldwinsville Public Library.

We want to thank everyone who came out to our first arts and crafts club of the summer today! We had an awesome time making beaded sun catchers! 💎☀️🌳

Arts and Crafts club is open to kids of all ages. If you feel that your child can do the craft, we would love for them to come! This is a FREE program that happens every Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 from now until August 25th.

Our Annual Ladies Summer Scramble Pickleball Tournament is back! 👟🏓

This tournament is a fun, social competition just for the ladies, and it’s a great way to enjoy some summer sun, friendly games, and good company.


When: July 15th, rain date will be the 16th

Where: Lysander Town Park

Price: $25 per player

Registrants will be posted at cnypickleball.com on the Play Schedule Sheet. Please do not add yourself to the sheet, we will add you once payment is completed.

This year, Lysander Parks and Recreation is proud to offer a unique summer opportunity for middle and high school students: ESF’s Summer Science Corps! 🔭🔬🐝🌷

ESF Summer Science Corps is ESF’s own summer program, carried out in partnership with local schools, parks, and community organizations. We are proud to partner with ESF faculty, staff, and students carrying out the academic and research efforts for which ESF is nationally renowned.

Summer programming is developed and carried out by current ESF students from a variety of majors and academic backgrounds- there’s something for everyone! Activities emphasize environmental stewardship, field and lab work, innovative research, community building, and career planning, all contextualized for their weekly partner’s site and audience. Presenters will offer programming that uniquely capitalizes on the resources and setting of Lysander Park and surrounding area! On the last day of programming, students will travel to ESF’s Syracuse Campus for a campus tour and activities!

When: July 20th through the 24th, 9:00am to 2:00pm

Where: Lysander Town Park and SUNY ESF

Who: Students going into grades 6 through 10

Price: $50 per student
