Today, Annunziato Jiu Jitsu celebrates four years.
Four years ago, we opened our doors with a vision: to build a place where families could train together, beginners would feel welcome, children would grow in confidence, and serious competitors could pursue championship-level goals.
Since then, we have watched nervous students walk into their first class and discover that they were capable of more than they imagined. We have celebrated first stripes, belt promotions, tournament medals, hard-earned victories, difficult lessons, new friendships, and life-changing transformations.
Our gym has grown from an idea into a community. We have expanded our programs, moved into a larger home, launched our Afterschool Martial Arts Program, welcomed Little Heroes onto the mats, supported veterans through We Defy, celebrated champions, and created a place where our own children and so many others are growing up together.
But the heart of AJJ has never been the building, the medals, or the number of members. It is the people.
It is every student who trusted us enough to begin. Every parent who brought their child through our doors. Every coach who invested their time and knowledge. Every teammate who encouraged someone through a difficult round. Every family member, friend, community partner, and supporter who helped us keep moving forward.
Owning a business has challenged us, stretched us, and required more from our family than most people will ever see. It has also given us a front-row seat to thousands of moments that remind us why we started.
To everyone who has been part of these first four years: thank you. Whether you have been with us from the beginning, recently joined our family, or supported us from a distance, you are part of this story.
Four years down—and we are only getting started.
