This video introduces the bio-chemistry associated with mental toughness (Brain Derived Neurothrophic Factor - BDNF) and how combining effort with concentration over time increases BDNF levels, which in turn helps people become more resilient. Exercise has been shown to double BDNF levels. However, the highest concentrations ever measured in humans came from Yoga. This makes perfect sense as Yoga requires effort and concentration over time, especially when poses are held for extended periods while striving to maintain alignment, breath, and mental focus.

“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.” ~Anne Lamott
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is stop. Three days at Radha Madhav Dham this October might be exactly the unplug you need.

People who annoy us and irritate us are our greatest spiritual friends, our greatest teachers. It is very easy to be ever so nice and loving to people who are ever so nice and loving back to us. Anybody can do that, right? I mean, that is nothing. But to have a loving mind towards someone who is driving you crazy, that really is something, you know..?

Meet one of the resident peacocks at Radha Madhav Dham. These beauties roam the grounds freely, adding character and a splash of color to the gardens. You never know who you'll run into on a morning walk at the retreat. 🦚
The 220 acres of ashram grounds in the the Hill Country of southwest Austin are also home to quiet ponds, gardens, walking paths, fountains, and a stream winding through. It's the kind of place that slows you down the second you arrive. See you there in October!
