UT Air Force ROTC Detachment 825

Chief of Training ODT: C/1st Lt Rose

This past month, C/1st Lt Rose had the opportunity to participate in the Chief of Training ODT at Maxwell AFB. Through this ODT, his cohort worked with an MTI on standardized drill and effective methods of teaching. From time on the drill pad being corrected on their own drill, to time in the classroom learning about the philosophy of teaching, to peers and subordinates, they got a comprehensive overview of advanced drill skills and teaching.

The goal of the this ODT was to eliminate discrepancies in drill across detachments. Cadets were presented with training methods to bring back to their detachments. They also had the opportunity to directly apply what was learned about teaching/drill to the following max in lessons.

Silver Flag ODT: C/Col LaFleur

C/Col LaFleur recently had the opportunity to participate in the Silver Flag ODT at Tyndall AFB, FL, learning about Civil Engineering and Force Support squadrons. She shadowed active duty personnel for two days, experiencing the training for Civil Engineering, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), Search and Rescue, Firefighting, and Emergency Management under realistic, austere combat scenarios. Activities included airfield repair and recovery, emergency services,
austere infrastructure, contingency response, and research and technology.

On April 30th, Maj Ulman promoted to Major in the U.S. Space Force in front of Littlefield Fountain.

Detachment 825 is beyond grateful for his outstanding commitment to education and creativity for cadet learning over the last 3 years.
From morning jeopardy, to incredible NASA visits, Maj Ulman’s time at Det 825 can be characterized out-of-this-world. We will miss him, but are excited for his next chapter in Colorado. Thank you, Maj Ulman! Semper Supra! 🛰️🪐

On May 10th, 18 students commissioned into the United States Air Force from UT AFROTC Detachment 825. We are so proud of our Longhorn Airmen, and so excited to see how they lead throughout their service and into the future. Stay in touch, alumni! Congratulations and hook ‘em 🤘✈️💙

Our last senior to spotlight is C/Prudhomme. She recently received her AFSC and is set to work in nursing within the USAF. Detachment 825 congratulates her as we all know the hard work she has put into accomplishing her aspirations within the medical field.

With the last couple of seniors being spotlighted next, we now have 2nd Lt Zor! He recently commissioned and will be reporting to Cannon AFB! This semester he led our wing as our Cadet Wing Commander. He performed and excelled at this position proving that he truly is one of a kind. Detachment 825 throws its full support as he ventures along into the Air Force.

Today’s spotlight is for C/Skelton! She has performed her duties to the highest standard this year. As this semester’s Inspector General, she ensured accountability and professionalism throughout the detachment, helping maintain standards and improve operations across the wing. Moving forward toward commissioning, Det 825 would like to spotlight her and wish her continued success!

Today’s spotlight is for C/Redwine! He has performed his duties to the top notch this year. As this semesters operations group commander, he oversaw the wings operations and training, doing an outstanding job leading those under him. Moving forward to commissioning, Det 825 would like to spotlight him and wish him nothing but success!

Doubling the lights today, Detachment 825 would like to spotlight our next senior C/Captain Rogers. C/Rogers has been a well-rounded cadet who has helped with MWR and been a BC flight commander this year. He maintains an amazing work ethic and astounding professionalism. Det 825 knows that whatever may be next for C/Rogers, he will always put forth his best effort just as he has done with our wing!
