UT Air Force ROTC Detachment 825

First LLAB was a success!

Brand new AS100s and AS250s met their cadre and wing staff, while AS200s began their journey into preparing for PSP. As the year moves forward, the GMC will learn fundamentals of Air and Space Force power, and develop the leadership skills necessary to one day serve in our nations Air Force and Space Force.

ODT: Global Strike Command ROTC Cadet Success Program

This summer, C/1st Lt Tripp worked as a National Security Analyst Intern at Barksdale AFB, LA. Selected by AFGSC Office of the Chief Scientist, his team collaborated on technical projects that develop systems, concepts, and technologies to enhance Air Force capabilities with direct impact to the mission. He gained valuable experiences and technical skills under the guidance of Air Force mentors. He program cultivated with briefing a 3-star General on his AFGSC project topic- Global Cultures; The High North Imperative.

At last, Detachment 825 welcomes home 6 new POC: C/Owens, C/Ramirez, C/Maradiaga-Rodriguez, C/Tripp, C/Jogdand, and C/Bajwa! We are so proud of their resiliency and hard work, and excited to welcome them home to join the POC corps!

And just like that, Detachment 825 has gained two new POC: C/Howrey and C/Heumphreus! Over the past three weeks, these two have worked relentlessly to earn their prop and wings, and we could not be more excited to welcome them back to Austin for their next chapter. Congrats y’all! 🤘

Finally, last but not least… MAX 6 🔜!

Azimuth: C/Osmak and C/Walters

This summer, C/Osmak and C/Walters participated in Azimuth at the United States Air Force Academy. Azimuth is a three-week long ODT, preparing future guardians for their career in the Space Force.

They visited Buckley, Peterson and Schriever Space Force Bases, and got a briefing from the USSPACECOM commander among other senior leaders. Hands-on experiences with training exercises all about the Space Force gave cadets an overall view of how the Space Force operates.

Congratulations to the newest Field Training 2026 graduates: C/Kurzontkowski, C/Wicker, C/Ismael, and C/Salhi! Hard work, energy, and perseverance brought these Longhorn Airmen to the FT finish line, and we could not be more proud.

USAFA Freefall ODT: C/Lt Col Howrey

Last week, C/Lt Col Howrey completed the Airmanship 490 (AM-490) course at the United States Air Force Academy. It is the only certified jump program in the world where students make their first freefall jump completely unassisted.

She completed the course by standing in the door of a plane to make five solo skydives earning her jump wings. The experience challenged C/Howrey to trust her training, stay positive, and face one of her biggest fears. FREEFALL!
