We're building something big in Pecos County - literally.⚡
Construction is underway on two new synchronous condensers at our Bakersfield Substation - large spinning machines that help keep the electric grid stable and reliable as more wind, solar and battery resources come online.
Crews just finished the foundations: 500+ cubic yards of concrete for each 479-ton condenser. That's enough to fill about 20 backyard pools!
The project is set to wrap up in mid-2027.

One year ago this weekend, floods swept through Central Texas, leaving communities forever changed. We are all Texans and neighbors. As we head into the holiday weekend, we're keeping families and communities who were affected in our thoughts.

The Mason Tennis Association received a $50,000 grant to replace failing lights with energy-efficient LEDs at the Helen Tallent Tennis Center - home to 100+ state tennis championships. Better lighting means safer courts, more reliable play, and lower energy costs for a facility that serves the whole Mason community.

UPDATE (8:30 AM): The floodgate testing at Wirtz Dam has concluded.

LCRA will test a newly installed floodgate at Wirtz Dam on Tuesday morning.
The test will include sounding the alert siren before opening the floodgate for about 15 minutes. During and shortly after the test, flows downstream of the dam in Lake Marble Falls will be temporarily higher and faster than usual.
