Tricia writes “As routines change with the new school year, remember to maintain professionalism and collaboration, communicate respectfully with teachers, parents, and other professionals, while staying within your role and scope of competence. Alway protect client confidentiality, and obtain appropriate consent before sharing any information. Ethical practice starts with collaboration and clear communication; keeping the client's best interest at the center of every decision."

Visual schedules are one of the simplest tools in ABA, but they make a real difference.

For many individuals we support, knowing "what's next" reduces anxiety and increases independence. A visual schedule breaks the day into clear, predictable steps using pictures, icons, or written words, so a person can see the plan instead of just being told it.

We've watched a visual schedule turn a challenging transition into a smooth one. Individuals check the schedule, move the item or flip the card, and walk into the next activity with confidence instead of resistance.

It's a small tool, but it teaches independence, reduces problem behavior, and gives individuals a sense of control over their day.

This is a great way to support someone who struggles with transitions.
