Most of these advanced exercises have taken me years of study and practice… and I’m still learning more detail and precision. That’s what I absolutely love about the Pilates method. The work is never done and the connections continue to be made the longer you study the method.

Let’s talk about inversions for KIDS! Summer is here and if your kids struggle with big feelings, meltdowns, or transitions …. I have found that teaching your kids to invert their body can massively help calm down their nervous system.

All of our kids LOVE to be upside down, which led me to do some deeper research. Inversions for kids and adults can help with flipping our perspective visually and mentally. Inversions move blood to the brain which can give us an energy boost and improve our mood. Learning how to balance upside down gives you confidence and greatly improves upper body, back, and core strength. The vestibular system also is being trained to create more spatial awareness and body coordination. So get those kids upside down. Start at the wall or even on the couch.

The Pilates method offers so many options for safe introduction to inversions. The Ladder Barrel, Wall, and Cadillac - are a great place to start ( with a comprehensive certified instructor).
