Dear Yogis,
Thirty years ago, I stepped onto a yoga mat for the very first time.
I had no idea that a simple practice of movement and breath would become one of the greatest gifts of my life.
Yoga has carried me through seasons of joy and loss, success and uncertainty, strength and healing. It has taught me that flexibility is about far more than the body. Strength is about much more than muscles. And freedom isn't something we earn someday in the future, it's something we uncover within ourselves, one breath at a time.
This July marks 30 years of practice. To celebrate, I've created a special series called:
The Practice of Freedom
30 Classes • 30 Lessons • 1 Workshop
Over the next several weeks, I'll be teaching 30 classes at Present Practice Yoga, each exploring a lesson I've learned from three decades on the mat.
We'll explore themes like:
• Freedom from fear
• Freedom from old stories
• Freedom from perfectionism
• Freedom from limitation
• Freedom from addiction and unhealthy patterns
• Freedom from believing we are not enough
• Freedom through presence, breath, and connection
In yoga philosophy, the highest expression of freedom is called Samadhi a state of wholeness, peace, and connection. While most of us experience only glimpses of it, yoga reminds us that freedom is not found by becoming someone else. It is found by returning to who we already are.
Whether you've practiced with me recently, practiced years ago at Breath and Body Yoga, or are simply looking for a reason to return to your mat, I would love to share this journey with you. And, I have a special offer for Breath and Body Yoga students, $30 or days for the series of classes.
The mat has been one of the greatest teachers in my life. It would be an honor to celebrate this milestone with you. See you on the mat.
