COACHES SPOTLIGHT: COACH JASON ESDORN!
Fall ball is here, and we’re continuing to highlight the incredible volunteers who make GEAYA so special! Today, we’re stepping up to the plate with Coach Jason Esdorn, who has been coaching with us since 2022!
Here’s a quick sneak peek into Coach Jason’s Q&A:
On His Baseball Journey:
“I played Little League growing up in Houston until about 12 years old and this will be my 9th season coaching with GEAYA.”
On His Favorite Meal:
“There’s nothing like a good Italian sandwich with hot peppers!”
On Family Travel:
Each summer, Coach Jason and his family take off on epic road trips—"...[we] recently would be New Zealand, Patagonia, Portugal.”
Thank you Coach Jason for everything you do for our players on and off the field! If you see him at Mabson Field this season, be sure to give him a high five and say thanks!

The regular season has wrapped and tournament play is officially here! ⚾️ GEAYA is breaking records this postseason—for the FIRST time ever, we are fielding a tournament team in every single division (7s, 8s, 9-10s, and 11-12s) for the District 11 City Tournament! YES GEAYA! 🎉
We are also incredibly proud to celebrate another major GEAYA first: Meet Coach Emily Blanco! 🌟
Emily is GEAYA's very first woman baseball head coach and head coach for our District Tournament 7s baseball team - The Panthers!
Even better, she’s our first head coach in over 10 years to advance in the City Tournament. She has been volunteering with us since Spring 2025, stepping up to coach because her son asked her to.
Right now, her Panthers are 1-1 in the bracket, and they need our energy in the stands!
📢 GAMEDAY TONIGHT:
Come out to Mabson Field TONIGHT (Monday, June 8th) at 7:00 PM to cheer loud for Coach Emily and the Panthers as they take on the next round!

Thank you, Coach Emily, and thank you to ALL of our incredible parent volunteers who make this league possible. Let’s go, Panthers! 🐾❤️⚾️

⚾️ COACHES SPOTLIGHT: MEET COACH O! ⚾️
As we charge into an exciting post-season, we are thrilled to launch our new "Coaches Spotlight" series! GEAYA runs entirely on the help of our volunteer families. Whether stepping up as a head coach, assistant, umpire, or team parent, our families make Mabson Field one of the best places to play baseball in Austin! Our young athletes thank you! 🙌
To kick off the series, meet Coach Otilio Juarez (Coach O), a league volunteer since 2023! This season, he is balancing roles as an umpire and an assistant coach for three teams (he has three kids in Little League right now)!
GEAUX COACH O! 🔴🔵
We caught up with him for a quick interview, and here is a sneak peek:
👉 Q: Why do you coach Little League Baseball?
"It started with coaching my oldest, and I quickly realized that being on the field was much more important to me than sitting in the stands. Now, I’m lucky enough to be coaching all three of my kids!"
👉 Q: What do you love most about coaching?
"I really enjoy watching the growth and development of each player. It’s amazing to witness their progress from the beginning of the season to the end..."
Want to learn more about Coach O's background, his day job installing school science labs right here in Austin, and his absolute favorite local taco spots? 🌮🔬
