This is a reminder that the HOA Board will be hosting a 2nd Informational Meeting regarding the recommended dues increase on Thursday, Sept 24 at 7pm at the clubhouse.

All members are invited to attend the meeting, in person. While in person attendance is strongly preferred, the board is offering zoom for convenience of those that cannot attend in person. Please understand that homeowners are expected to manage their own connection and setup. No technical support will be available. Anyone choosing to join via Zoom must ensure their device, audio, and internet connection are functioning before the meeting begins.

New season of Hawthorn Recipe Club starts on Thursday, September 17th at 7:00pm at the Hawthorn Clubhouse!

Come join us for a new season of Recipe Club; theme is Fall Recipes.

About Recipe Club:
We meet on the third Thursday of each month from September to May. We will have a hostess signup at this meeting, to host in their homes. Hostess picks the theme each month, and supplies paper goods. Please bring a dish to share, and w**e or a drink to share.

Reminder Message from HOA Board:

The first of three informational meetings to discuss the recommended dues increase for 2027 will be held on Wednesday, September 9 at 7pm at the Hawthorn Clubhouse. The board invites all residents to attend, to better understand the recommendation. The board requests that those that know they plan to attend to please reply via email to [email protected], so we can get an idea of attendance and arrange seating.

Two additional meetings are planned for Thursday, September 24 and Monday, October 5. If you have questions or concerns, please try to attend one of these meetings.

In order to enact this increase, our covenants and restrictions require a quorum and a vote of residents. The meeting to vote on the increase, will be held on October 28. The board is asking all residents to either plan to attend that meeting, or submit a proxy for your vote. A physical drop off will likely be created, but, for now, please submit via email.

Hawthorn parents:

Please be aware that HOA board is aware that there has been underage drinking and vandalism, at both the Hawthorn recreation center area and the Hawthorn dock/ lake area. Participants include both resident and non resident teens. The HOA board has taken steps to update our camera capabilities and we are now capable of recording activities in both common areas. This includes recording of anyone driving around the gate, as well as using unauthorized codes to access the recreation area. All should be aware that both of these actions are considered trespassing. The HOA board has been in contact with the police department and has requested increased patrol in both of these areas.

Parents, please be aware of where your teens are and who they are with, especially into the late evening hours.

🚨 Notice to Hawthorn Residents 🚨
As part of the Aurora Lake Association’s ongoing commitment to water safety, we have invited the Aurora Fire Department to conduct training exercises on Aurora Lake on Tuesday, August 4, beginning around 9:00 a.m.

Residents may notice Aurora’s new water rescue boat and other emergency personnel on the lake during the training. Please do not be alarmed—this is a planned training exercise designed to help ensure our first responders are prepared to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies on the water.

We appreciate the Aurora Fire Department’s partnership and their dedication to keeping our community safe.
