Using plastic in a microwave, should you?

some contaminants can migrate from plastic into food or water during microwaving, and there is evidence that microwave heating can increase that migration. It does depends heavily on the type of plastic, temperature, food/water, container condition, and heating time.

For 3 minutes specifically, one study is particularly relevant: researchers found that microwave heating for 3 minutes could release up to 4.22 million microplastic particles and 2.11 billion nanoplastic particles per cm² of plastic surface in some tested containers. Those were the highest results among the containers tested—not what every plastic container releases.

What can migrate?

Researchers have detected several categories:

* Microplastics and nanoplastics
* Plastic additives and degradation products
* Antioxidants used in plastics and their breakdown products
* Plasticizers, including some phthalates, depending on the plastic
* Other intentionally added and non-intentionally added chemicals

Granola — should you add it to your yogurt or snacks?

If you find the right one, yes.

The problem is that not all granolas are created equal. Some are loaded with added sugar and calories, while others offer a good amount of protein and fiber.

Make sure you pay attention to the ingredient list. Try to avoid sodium bicarbonate and tripotassium phosphate. A recent study by INSERM suggests an association with sodium bicarbonate and the onset of breast cancer. however, the team suggested that more studies are necessary at this stage to confirm this correlation.

I’ve gone to Walmart, compared different granolas, and cross-referenced them on Yuka to see which ones have better ingredient and nutrition profiles.

Sometimes the difference between good and not-so-good choices are more about the additives and not just how much protein it has. They scored them based on additives, nutritional value, and organic nature.

2026 is almost over!

A workout is never just a workout.

Behind every member in this video is a different story. Different goals. Different struggles. Different reasons for starting — and different reasons for continuing.

We get to watch people walk through the doors not always knowing what they’re capable of, and then slowly start doing things they once thought they couldn’t.

The strength they build isn’t always something you can see in a picture or measure on a scale. Sometimes it’s confidence. Sometimes it’s consistency. Sometimes it’s simply showing up on a day when they really didn’t want to.

🍊 Vitamin C: The Underrated Recovery Weapon
You train hard… but are you giving your body what it needs to bounce back?
Vitamin C isn’t just about “not getting sick.”
It’s a critical player for anyone who trains consistently:
✅ Collagen production – Supports joints, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue so you can keep training hard
✅ Faster recovery – Aids tissue repair after tough sessions
✅ Immune support – Especially valuable when training volume is high (intense training can temporarily lower immunity)
✅ Antioxidant protection – Helps combat the extra oxidative stress from hard workouts
✅ Better iron absorption – Supports steady energy levels
Your body can’t make vitamin C on its own and doesn’t store much of it — so you need a consistent daily supply.
Best food sources:
Bell peppers, kiwi, strawberries, oranges, and leafy greens.
Training hard or struggling to hit those foods every day? A quality vitamin C supplement can help fill the gap — especially useful under high physical stress.
Because vitamin C is water-soluble, your body uses what it needs and flushes the rest. That means consistent daily intake matters more than occasional big doses.
• RDA: 90 mg/day (men) | 75 mg/day (women)
• Upper limit from supplements: 2,000 mg/day for adults
We trust Nordic Naturals. SuppCo rates their Vitamin C Gummies 7.63/10 — solid quality and great value (60 gummies for under $20).
