Trans athletes are athletes who deserve the right to play the sports that bring them joy, confidence, and a sense of belonging. They put in the same hard work, dedication, and passion as any other athlete, and it's time we recognize and respect their efforts. We stand in solidarity with trans athletes and the fans who support them across the country, from local community leagues to professional teams.
If you'd like to join us in showing your support for trans athletes and promoting a more inclusive and accepting environment in sports, consider purchasing our "Let Trans Kids Play!" scarf. A $5 donation is made to Advocates 4 Trans Equality for each scarf purchased.

Today we pause and celebrate Juneteenth Freedom Day. A cornerstone of the Juneteenth celebration is education, so we would like to share the history and meaning of this holiday.
The holiday is a celebration and remembrance of June 19, 1865, when the final enforcement order of the Emancipation Proclamation was given in Texas. Despite the Emancipation Proclamation going into effect 900 days earlier and the final surrender of the Confederacy taking place 71 days earlier, rural Texas did not free enslaved Africans until this final order. While it was not declared a federal holiday until 2021, Juneteenth Freedom Day has been celebrated since 1866. Because Black Americans were still prohibited from many public spaces, these celebrations often took place at churches. Since the 1970's, these celebrations have become larger and more common across the country.

With 19 events across the state, you're bound to be close to a Pride Festival in Georgia this year. Visibility is important. Showing folks that they're not alone, that we exist, and that we live right by them can make all the difference. So take the opportunity to get out, meet the local LGBTQ+ communities across Georgia, and show we're not afraid and we're not backing down!

Happy Pride Month, fam! Every day presents an opportunity to live authentically and with pride. This month, we honor the pioneers who have fought tirelessly for our rights and freedoms. Unfortunately, these rights remain under threat, and we are reminded that our collective efforts must persist. By promoting visibility and solidarity, we continue to advocate for a more inclusive society.
