Before a single ball was kicked, before the roar of thousands filled the stadium, there was a dancer.
Atlanta Ballet artist Camille-Margaret Jackson took center stage atop Mercedes-Benz Stadium as part of a FIFA World Cup 2026โข promotional film, revealing a powerful connection between two worlds often viewed separately: soccer and ballet.
At their highest levels, both are driven by the same pursuit of excellence: artistry, athleticism, discipline, movement and passion.
For Atlanta native Camille-Margaret Jackson, that journey began at just four years old at Atlanta Balletโs Centre for Dance Education. Years of training, dedication and perseverance eventually led her from the Academy to Atlanta Ballet 2 and now to Atlanta Balletโs professional company.
As the world turns its attention to the athletes competing on the pitch, weโre reminded that behind every breathtaking performance, whether on a field or on a stage, is a story of preparation, sacrifice, resilience and an unwavering commitment to mastering a craft.
Because excellence is earned long before anyone is watching.

The Fourth of July wouldnโt be complete without fireworks, and few are more dazzling than the balletic fireworks of George Balanchineโs Stars and Stripes.
Bursting with spirit, precision, and infectious energy, this quintessential all-American ballet captures the excitement and pageantry of the Fourth of July. Set to the rousing marches of John Philip Sousa, Stars and Stripes is a vibrant celebration that continues to bring audiences to their feet year after year.
As the nation commemorates its 250th anniversary, Atlanta Ballet is delighted to open the 26|27 season with Stars and Stripes as part of Passion & Pride, September 18โ20, 2026, at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.
Balanchine repetiteur Paul Boos returns to Atlanta to stage this spirited work, bringing insight into the spectacle, precision, and flair that have made Stars and Stripes an enduring audience favorite for nearly 70 years.
