Dawson Crossfit
Click below for important links! https://campsite.bio/dawsoncrossfit When compared to typical gym memberships, Dawson CrossFit may seem expensive.
CrossFit workouts are performed in a small group environment under close supervision of certified CrossFit trainers. However, we are NOT a typical gym. We do not rely on the quantity of our members. Instead, we focus on the quality of our training. Members receive the benefit of personal training instruction at a fraction of the cost, and the results are unmatched. Personal safety is our number one priority, so proper technique and form are constantly reinforced.

❓When did you join Dawson CrossFit?
💪My profile was created Oct. 14, 2019, but I only came a few times that year. Then I came back in 2023 for a few classes. I finally committed in Oct. 2025 and now go 4-6 times a week.
❓Why did you join Dawson CrossFit?
💪My husband constantly encouraged me to go. Plus, we had been tracking our macros for months, losing weight, and I could see the drastic changes in both his body composition and his performance in the gym.
❓How did you find Dawson CrossFit?
💪I did a Battle for the Mountain competition years ago and my husband is a longtime athlete of Dawson CrossFit.
❓What is your favorite thing about Dawson CrossFit?
💪The coaches and the encouragement you get from everyone
❓What is your favorite move(s) or WOD?
💪Anything but snatches
❓What is your current goal?
💪Toes-to-Bar and Pull-ups
❓What goals have you already accomplished?
💪Wall walks and moving to more difficult movement, weight, and rep options for more workouts
❓What would you tell someone who is thinking about trying Dawson CrossFit?
💪Try it. There are modifications for everything and the coaches and members are very helpful. It’s no different than making yourself walk into a regular gym. You just have to get there, set your mind to it, and commit to getting stronger and healthier.
❓ Any other inspirational stories or thoughts to share?
💪My husband and I hired a nutrition coach and have been tracking our macros since April of 2025. Eating the right foods has definitely been a huge part of me being able to do the workouts and make improvements in the gym. It is a commitment to myself to get healthier, stronger, and hopefully live longer.
There’s no “right age” to start CrossFit.
There are people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond showing up, learning new movements and getting stronger together.
So if you’ve ever looked at a CrossFit gym and thought, “I don’t think people like me belong there,” we hope you see yourself somewhere in this video.

Farmer carries are about much more than carrying heavy weights.
They build grip strength, core stability, posture, and resilience to help you stay capable both inside and outside the gym. The goal isn't just to get stronger for today's workout. It's to stay strong for life.

Hello Athletes! Can you believe this cycle is already coming to an end? Starting Monday, August 3, you get to see what the past eleven weeks produced.
Retest weeks run August 3 through August 16 and close out Achilles. Same benchmarks, same standards, same movements you hit back in Weeks 1 and 2.
Here is where to find your testing metrics. They are also loaded in RxGym for next week.
5x5 Front Squat, tested June 1
3x10 Strict Press, tested June 2
PRVN Engine, tested June 3
DT, tested June 5
5x5 Sumo Deadlift, tested June 10
1RM Sn**ch and Clean and Jerk, new tests happening in these two weeks
Pull those up before you come in. Seeing where you started is half the fun, and if you cannot track a number down, grab a coach and we will set a goal together.
A few things that will make these two weeks feel great:
Come in for all of it. The days that look a bit more intimidating are the ones you will be proudest of.
Sleep and eat like it matters, because it does. Seven to nine hours and a real meal two to three hours before class will do more for your numbers than anything else. Carbs are your friend!
Give yourself a few extra minutes. Getting here ten to fifteen minutes early means more time to activate.
Retest at the level you tested. Rx, Rx2, or Rx3, staying consistent is what makes the comparison real. Jump a level only if that is the goal you set for your retest.
Tell your coach what is going on. Sore shoulder, rough week, new to a movement, all of it helps us adjust with you.
Newer to us and missed the first round of testing? Come anyway. These two weeks become your baseline for the next cycle.
We are excited to see these numbers. Come in, have fun with it, let us celebrate the work with you, and leave no doubt.

❓When did you join DCF?
💪In 2019
❓Why did you join DCF?
💪I moved from Atlanta to Dawsonville when me and Ben got married and he was already a member. I said I would never do CrossFit but I decided to actually try it out, I loved it.
❓What is your favorite thing about DCF?
💪That I can show up everyday and don’t have to worry about what to do and there are coaches and other athletes there to help you improve.
❓What is your favorite move(s) or WOD?
💪Anything but thrusters
❓What is your current goal?
💪Strict pull-up
❓What goals have you already accomplished?
💪Kipping pull-ups and toes to bar.
❓What would you tell someone who is thinking about trying DCF?
💪Don’t let the word CrossFit scare you from entering the doors. I have been active my whole life, but I had never touched a barbell and didn’t even know what all the movements were. There will be coaches there to assist you every step of the way.
❓Anything else to share?
💪Anything is possible. I have been fortunate enough to workout here during 2 pregnancies. I even did a workout the day before Lily was born! Your body is amazing and capable of so much more than you think.
