🏆 ATLANTA WIBN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER | 2026 🏆
We are thrilled to announce Chanel Johnson as the 2026 Atlanta Chapter Wrestlers in Business Network Scholarship recipient!
Chanel’s wrestling story is one of perseverance, leadership, and breaking barriers.
As one of the first girls to wrestle on her high school’s boys’ team, Chanel faced challenges that could have discouraged her. Instead, she used those experiences to help pave the way for the official establishment of a girls wrestling team at her school—and went on to serve as its captain.
A four-year varsity wrestler, Chanel served as team captain during her junior and senior years.
But what impressed us most was her understanding of what wrestling represents beyond wins and losses. Chanel describes wrestling as a source of strength, discipline, confidence, and personal growth—and she is determined to create those same opportunities for the next generation.
We are proud to award Chanel $1,000 per year for four years of college and excited to support her as she begins this next chapter at North Carolina Central University.
Chanel, congratulations! Your willingness to lead, persevere, and create opportunities for others is exactly what makes you deserving of this scholarship.
We can't wait to see where your wrestling journey takes you next.
