Black Boys OM believes that healing is not a luxury. It is infrastructure. And right now, some of the most important ideas about how our communities can be well, stay well, and build wellness ecosystems that last are living inside of you. This competition is an invitation to bring those ideas forward. Whether you are a healer, professional, a student, a practitioner, a community member, or someone who has simply lived enough life to know what our people need, your voice belongs in this conversation. Write what you know. Write what you imagine. Write what you feel. We are listening. ESSAY TOPICS (Choose One) (1,000-5,000 words) 1. The Future of Black Wellness Where are we headed? What does a thriving Black wellness landscape look like in 10, 20, 50 years? What needs to shift, be built, or be protected to get there? 2. Fortifying the Existing Black Wellness Ecosystem What structures, relationships, and resources are already in place that deserve more investment, visibility, and protection? How do we strengthen what we have? 3. A Black Healing Offering Idea Propose a modality, program, ritual, or community resource rooted in Black healing traditions or lived experience. What would it look like? Who would it serve? Why is it needed now? 4. Essay from the Heart This prompt is open and yours to define. Write what is true. Write what your community needs to hear. Write what has been living in you. 5. Better Ways to Support Healers Healers carry so much. What do they actually need? What are we missing in how we show up for the people who show up for us?
