Shadow, when you chose us 12 years ago, we didn't know what we were getting. You were sick and were scheduled to be put down unless someone adopted you. I didn't even go into that pet store looking for a dog but the connection was too strong to leave you. It didn't look too good for you back then but I knew we wanted to give you more years. I never would've thought that you would become the most important piece of my life. You were the absolute constant and subsequently became the pinnacle of stability in my life. You were there for me during the lowest points of my life. You were like my emotional support dog. You were my best friend. Yesterday was the last time I walked you. The last time I fed you. The last time I played with you. The last time you looked up to me with those loving eyes. You showed me what unconditional love and loyalty looked like. I miss you so much.
