Happy Father’s Day to the man who started it all. ❤️🏀 At 82 years old, my dad, Gordon Gibbons, is still in the gym teaching, mentoring, and impacting lives every day. Everything I know about coaching, leadership, work ethic, loyalty, and serving others started with him. Long before I ever dreamed of becoming a college coach, I was just a kid watching my dad pour his heart into his players, his family, and the game he loves. This year, as I begin my journey as Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Motlow State Community College, I can’t help but reflect on the example he set. He never told me success would be easy. He showed me what it looked like through decades of hard work, sacrifice, consistency, and character. What makes me most proud isn’t the wins, championships, or Hall of Fame recognition. It’s watching him be the same man, coach, father, and grandfather every single day. And now seeing him with Vaughn is one of life’s greatest blessings. Three generations connected through faith, family, basketball, and a love for helping others. Thank you, Dad, for every lesson, every ride to practice, every late-night conversation, and for showing me what a man is supposed to be. Happy Father’s Day, Coach. We love you. Three generations.
