One conversation I have almost every week goes something like this:
“I’ve had back pain for a couple of years... how long do you think this will take?”
It’s a fair question.
The honest answer is that meaningful change usually takes longer than we’d like.
The encouraging part is that the body adapts remarkably well when you give it the right inputs consistently.
One workout won’t change your back.
Neither will one stretch or one great PT session.
Stack enough good weeks together, though, and something interesting starts to happen.
You stop planning your life around your back.
You book the golf trip.
You walk the course without thinking twice.
You finish the round and realize your attention stayed on the game instead of your symptoms.
That’s a pretty great place to end up.
