Hi, I'm Marilyn, founder of The Spark Method. I learned to lift in college over ten years ago, got hooked on bodybuilding and powerlifting, and kept training long after my competitive days ended. Strength is one of the few things you can build on purpose that pays you back everywhere: how you look, how you sleep, how you carry yourself into a room, how you feel at 60 and 70 and beyond. I've never found anything else with that kind of return, and coaching other people into it is the best part of my job.

My Client Focus: I train clients who want to build real strength and change their body composition: more lean muscle, less body fat, a physique that looks athletic because it actually is. What we don't do is HIIT, circuits, or cardio for the sake of sweating. Every session is progressive strength work that builds on the last one.

Plenty of my clients have never trained before, and if that's you, you're not behind. We start with what your body already does and build from there. Some clients love a barbell and some never touch one. Dumbbells, cables, kettlebells, and bodyweight will take you a long way. The tool matters less than whether the pattern is loaded well.

I also work with clients returning after a long break, people managing back pain or old injuries who are tired of being told to be careful, and clients navigating pregnancy and postpartum.
