Now that all the athletes are home and settled. Let’s give a huge round of applause for the 4 national Qualifiers whom competed against the top 6 in each state for the Jr Olympics in Des Moines, Iowa.
Leauna McCaleb 4-time Olympian,
Trent Phelps 2-time Olympian,
Jabari Bell and Isaac Hull both first timers and definitely not the last time you’ll hear their names. All four put a lot of hard work, dedication and discipline throughout their season.

These athletes closed out their season proudly representing Ashtabula County, and we could not be more proud. Thank you to everyone who showed love and support along the way, it truly helped made the journey possible.

A BIG shout out to Stacy Jones for covering the registration fees for all four athletes and helping make this experience possible. Your generosity and support are deeply appreciated by Ashtabula Stride.

The regional competition took place at Wittensburg University, where six athletes faced intense competition. Throughout the weekend, these athletes achieved new personal records in multiple events, demonstrating their perseverance and dedication. The hard work they put in throughout the season has paid off, and each athlete deserves recognition for their outstanding achievement. Notably, few athletes of their age can claim to have qualified for regionals. Ariane Williams and Ryan Zander are prime examples, having worked diligently throughout the season and achieving personal records at regionals. Four athletes have advanced to the Jr Olympics, which will be held in Iowa. The advancing athletes are Trent Phelps in shot put, Isaac Hull in 100m hurdles, Jabari Bell in shot put, and Leauna McCaleb in 100m dash.

Congratulations to Ashtabula Stride on their outstanding performance, with numerous PRs and medals earned. Six athletes will advance to Regionals:

Isaac Hull - 110m hurdles 🥇, 400m, 800🥈, and Long jump
Trent Phelps-shot 🥇
Ryan Zander -400m, 800m, and Javelin
Jabari Bell -shot 🥉, 400m, and 200m
Leauna McCaleb-100m, 400m, and 200m
Ariane Williams-100m, 400m, and 200m

Parents please check remind for links of spectators for districts and next Saturday in Warrensville. The schedules for this weekend's events are available on Remind. All athletes must arrive on time to receive their bibs and participate in check-ins and warm-ups. Good luck, Ashtabula Stride!

Districts will be held at North Canton High School on June 13th-14th. The top 16 will advance to Regionals. Today's practice will take place at the High School from 5:30-6:30. We wish Ashtabula Stride the best of luck this weekend. Parents, please refer to Remind for this weekend's schedules. Additionally, payment for the Warrensville Invitational is now due and must be received by Sunday.

Districts are finalized. Early access to the Warrensville invitational for next week is available. Payments are due by Sunday at midnight. All parents, please refer to the Remind app for information regarding this weekend's districts. 25 teams will be competing for a spot at regionals. Top 16 will advance to regionals in each event. We wish our Ashtabula Stride the best of luck!

District registrations are now confirmed. The event will take place at North Canton High School on June 13th-14th. Please check Remind for updates. Spectator links will be posted once available. Tomorrow's practice will be held at the Jr High from 5:30pm-6:30pm.
