3 cheers to Burial B**r for winning the 2026 Brew League Cup at Asheville Municipal Golf Course. This is the 3rd consecutive year that Burial has brought home the Trophy! Nine brewery teams battled it out during the 18 week season and the top three teams had a 2 week playoff to determine the champion. Finishing in 2nd Place was RAD Brewing and 3rd Place was French Broad Brewing. Thanks to all the teams who participated and we look forward to continuing the tradition next year. Cheers!

Congratulations to Terry Tolle who aced our 18th hole on Friday September 11. Terry, who is 81, used his Shotsaver club from 109 yards to card his eagle. Way to go Terry!

Sophomore Banksley Plemmons shot a 37 (one over par) at Asheville Municipal Golf Course on Monday, Aug. 24, setting the record-low school score for Smoky Mountain Women’s Golf, according to former Herald writer Carey Phillips and Head Coach Wes Plemmons.

“Banksley is only a second-year player but is super excited to see what her future in golf holds,” said Wes Plemmons.

Banksley had three birdies, four bogeys and two pars, totaling her one-over-par score.

We are excited to announce we will be hosting a Fall PGA Junior League for ages13 & under. This program is designed to allow juniors to play in a fun, team-oriented format. All practices and matches will be on Thursdays starting August 24 and will run until Oct.8. The times will be from 4:30-6:00. Cost is $380 plus the processing fee.
