We are thrilled to finally show you the finished playground at Gainsboro Park for PLAY Roanoke.
This playground is bringing some serious color and personality with bold red, yellow and green elements, plus custom panels that make the design truly one-of-a-kind. ❤️💛💚
And there’s more to this space than the playground itself including the unitary surfacing, fitness equipment, dedicated seating areas, and shade structures that create a complete outdoor recreation space with something for everyone.

The big play structure is just the beginning...Look a little closer and you’ll find thoughtful features designed to support different ways to learn, move, connect and recharge.
Vero brings rhythmic movement and sensory play. A communication board creates opportunities for connection. The Serenity Spot offers a quieter place to step away from the action while still being part of the playspace. STEMplay and musical elements bring learning and creativity outdoors, while comfortable seating and shade make the space inviting for everyone.

One of the standout features of this new school playspace, Nucleus Strive, brings movement, challenge and adventure together in one dynamic play experience.
Events like the Strive Inclusive Switchback Climber create a direct route to the upper play level, with thoughtful features that support different ways of approaching the climb.
