Another fun Homeschool Barn Day session this morning and a fun After School Club day! It was such a gorgeous Fall day to spend with the horses!

We learned about horses teeth, scrubbed and filled water buckets, learned how much on average a horse drinks a day, how much horses eat, and got to ride!

Big shout out to our very first Homeschool Barn Days group! We had such a great turnout and everyone seemed to have a great time! If you have any pictures from today that you don’t mind sharing you can send them to me and I will post them (I didn’t get a chance to get any 😩)!

Then to wrap up the afternoon we had a fun work day in the barn for our after school horse club!

These are two really fun groups! If you are looking for something different for your kiddos to do we have plenty of room for our after school horse club on Mondays and Thursday afternoons! And we will be setting some winter homeschool dates in the near future so keep a look out for that info!

✨Ginger Snap ✨

Ginger is up for sale or lease by her owner. She’s a bit of a mystery that we are slowly piecing together while she is here with us.

She is a 15 years old (approx), 16hh, TB mare. She came from a situation where she was not well cared for and ultimately neglected then dumped on an older cow farmer that really has no idea what to do with horses. She’s been said to be out of work for somewhere around 5 years but when her current owner went to see her she was able to tack her up and hop on her to ride her around for a few minutes. She does direct rein and neck rein.

She is a bit herd bound and we are slowly working on her, getting a bit more weight on her, then we will start giving her refresher training to really get a better idea of what she knows and how she is under saddle.

She does have what looks like an old injury to her left hind fetlock but it does not seem to bother her at all.

She is a love bug and has an eager to please personality. With her unknown background she would be best suited for an advanced rider or someone that is comfortable restarting horses. I will update this post with more information as we continue to figure her out.

We have a new redheaded mare here with us for a bit and she needs a new name!

Comment your name suggestions so we can give this sweetheart a fitting name 🤍 Owner has the final say (obviously) but she needs ideas! We will also get some better pictures once it’s not raining - she’s a pretty girl 😊
