PAGA of Arlington invades Plano today ⛳

We are saddened to share the passing of Rafael Villarreal, who passed away on August 8, 2026.

Rafael had a long history with PAGA. He joined the Irving Chapter in 1990 after being a member of the San Angelo Chapter. He served as Chapter Vice President in 1992 and President in 1993.

In 1993, Rafael was elected NPAGA Secretary at the National Convention in Oklahoma City and served from 1994–1995.

Rafael brought a lot of good ideas to National PAGA. He helped start having National Officers give reports at Delegate Meetings so everyone knew what was going on in each area. He also helped start a National membership drive and designed a PAGA pamphlet that was used to help bring in new members.

After serving as National Secretary, Rafael stayed involved and continued helping PAGA of Irving through different committees. In 2001–2002, he served in Public Relations and as National Delegate.

He could play some golf too. Rafael was 1995 Championship Flight Club Champion, finished 2nd in the Championship Flight at Nationals in 1996, and competed in the 1st Flight at Nationals in 1997.

In 2005, Rafael was inducted into the National PAGA Hall of Fame.

Rafael gave many years to PAGA, both at the chapter and National level. He was a big part of Irving history and helped make PAGA better along the way.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Villarreal family and everyone who knew Rafael.

Rest in peace, Rafael. Your PAGA family will remember you and the mark you left on our organization. 🙏🏽⛳
