WANNA RUN A RIVER?

Are you an experienced flat water paddler? Only paddled on lakes or slow rivers? Ready to tackle something with a little bit of rapids?

Join North Texas River Runners for a paddle down the San Marcos River on Saturday, Oct 3 and optional Rio Vista whitewater park on Sunday, Oct 4.

This weekend is designed for novice paddlers that want to run a river with experienced paddlers. Not formal instruction, just a group of like-minded individuals that want to have fun 😎

The event is on a private Facebook group to limit the number and skill level of the paddlers. Please DM Donna Morgan for an invitation to the group.

This is horrific. Anyone who has paddled with these animals knows they are not dangerous and certainly
do not deserve this.

Reward up to $1,000 offered by Operation Game Thief for information leading to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for these illegal acts.

From May to July 2026, at least three alligators have been shot at the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge on Lake Worth. One of the alligators survived, the other two were killed and their carcasses were abandoned and left to waste. At least one of the alligators was shot with a crossbow bolt.

We have just been told by our parent club Arkansas Canoe Club that NTRR members are not renewing. This deeply impact things like whitewater school, river school, and our ability to continue to support paddlers looking to improve skills. Please check your membership status and renew your membership if you have not already done so. At ony $25 per year it is the best deal going on the water. That membership gives you access to all our local club functions such as roll practice and monthly meetings as well as access to loaner equipment set aside for club members.
