As we approach the 2017 Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Chattanooga, let's take a look back at the best pics from the last AMERICAN venue for this event, at old Las Vegas facility in 2013, the last before it became an international event. It was a rainy day with cooler temperatures and fast times. People who placed well there went on to dominate this distance and the full Ironman for the next four years. Visit again September 7-10 for more great photos and video from Chattanooga.

GREAT VIDEO from Buffalo Springs Lake Ironman 70.3 for 2017 (10 minutes), including cool slo-mo and stills in the mix. This is a first rough cut of still and video footage from the race only, shot at 120fps. There are no titles, narration, or other effects. There is excellent slow motion and good sound and looks great on a big-screen TV and/or 4K monitor. It does tell a story and shows the overall winners and age-group standouts without much talking. It's actually quite good for a one-camera shoot, all that one person (Tuula) can do in one day. I'm booked solid on other film projects right now, so the full documentary treatment will have to wait for later.
Pre-race and awards ceremony will be in another video coming, including the already published interview with female winner Rachel Olson.
