Located along the Trinity River, the Elzie Odom Athletic Center is a multi-purpose facility designed to meet the athletic and recreational needs of Arlington residents and visitors. Opened in April 1999, the center offers a wide selection of classes from arts and crafts and sports leagues including fitness. Walktober is back and better than ever!
Registration is now open for our community-wide challenge that runs Oct. 1 through Nov. 30, 2026, and encourages participants to walk at least 40 days during the period. Residents can walk anywhere they choose, including recreation center tracks, city trails, parks and neighborhood routes.

As we wrap up another incredible summer, we wanted to share a few of our favorite moments from Camp Elzie 2026! From field trips and water days to rock climbing, skating, special events, games, and all the memories made along the way, this summer was one to remember.
A huge thank you to all of our campers, families, and staff who helped make this summer so special. We are grateful for every laugh, friendship, challenge, and adventure that made Camp Elzie what it was this year. 💜
To all of our campers and teachers, we wish you an amazing school year! 📚✏️ We hope you have a successful year filled with new experiences, growth, and plenty of fun.

Remembering Former Arlington Mayor and City Councilman Elzie Odom With solemn respect of Mr. Odom’s life and legacy, the City of Arlington flag will remain at half-staff at city facilities and all of Arlington’s lighted gateway monuments, including the towers in front of City Hall, will be kept dark.
