⚾ DIAMOND CLUB MEETING RECAP ⚾
Thank you to the parents who attended tonight’s meeting. Coach Cornell shared important information regarding the upcoming season, expectations for our players, fees, fundraising, and communication.
We had a low parent turnout, and we strongly encourage more parents to attend future meetings. We understand everyone has busy schedules and that sometimes you are unable to be there. However, these meetings contain important information that directly impacts your player. While we provide a recap, it is always best to hear information firsthand from Coach, have the opportunity to ask questions, and ensure everyone is fully informed and aligned.
📧 COMMUNICATION & DRAGONFLY
A QR code was provided for parents to submit their email addresses to Coach Cornell. Please ensure he has your most current email address so you do not miss important team communication.
Several players still need to complete their DragonFly requirements. Please check your player’s account and ensure all forms are completed, signed, and submitted.
⚾ PRACTICE SCHEDULE & EXPECTATIONS
Beginning in November, there will be one practice per week:
• Middle School — Tuesdays
• JV & Varsity — Thursdays
• Practices will be held rain or shine
This schedule will continue until Christmas break. Beginning in January, practices will be held daily.
Players are responsible for communicating directly with Coach if they will miss practice.
Attendance and punctuality are extremely important. Consistently being late will have consequences, and if a player does not attend practice, he will not play.
📚 ACADEMICS & DISCIPLINE
Players are required to maintain a 2.5 GPA.
Discipline issues may also affect participation:
• An out-of-school suspension will result in missing 1/4 of the season
• Placement in A-School will result in removal from the team
💰 PLAYER FEES & TEAM GEAR
Player fees have not changed from previous years. However, the cloth/spirit pack is NOT included in the player fee.
There will also be a team dress code for items such as cleats, sliding mitts, helmets, etc.
📅 Player fees are due February 13.
Fees must be paid in order to participate. If there are any issues meeting this deadline, please communicate directly with Coach Cornell.
💵 DIAMOND CLUB MEMBERSHIP
We are asking each family to consider joining the Diamond Club for a $30 annual membership fee. This membership helps support the program and, most importantly, gives families a voice in team decisions and program support efforts.
If you would like to join, please send $30 via Venmo. Be sure to include your player’s name.
💵 FUNDRAISERS
Fundraising efforts for the season include:
• 20/20
• Scoreboard & Fence Signs
• Boston Butt Sale
• Drawdown Dinner
Parent participation and support in these fundraisers are extremely important. The Diamond Club cannot be successful without everyone working together.
🏆 END-OF-YEAR BANQUET
There will not be an end-of-year banquet unless we have a season worth celebrating.
Our goal is to support Coach Cornell, our program, and most importantly, our players. That requires involvement from all of us. We would love to see more parents at our next meeting. When more families are involved, communication improves, questions can be answered directly, and we can accomplish much more for our kids.
Please make every effort to attend future meetings and stay involved. We are looking forward to a great season! ⚾
