Back to School Stress Reliever!

Another summer come and gone. Don’t get me wrong, we all love having our kids around, but there comes that time, when we both need that structure again in our lives! You’ve worked all summer coordinating shuttling them to different events, got them all set up for the 1st day of school, and made sure they made it to school on time while dodging orange barrels. It doesn’t matter how old they are, you’re the main coordinator!

Take a deep breath, you did great for them again, but now it’s time to take care of yourself with a massage to get reset!

Have you ever had shoulder pain that just wouldn’t go away - even after rest, stretching, or even physical therapy?

Getting some early morning studying/review in and the more I learn, the more I’m reminded of how connected the body truly is.

Today I’m continuing my education in neuromuscular therapy (NMT), diving deeper into the shoulder pain, and the many ways the body compensates when something isn’t moving the way it should. Lately, I’ve been seeing increases in people with shoulder pain and it’s up to me to ask the right questions to get to the cause of the pain problem.

Most of the time, the pain point isn’t the source of the problem.

-Shoulder pain can be influenced by tight/weak muscles around the shoulder blade
-Restrictions in the neck or upper body ( I deal with this myself occasionally)
-Poor posture from sitting at your desk too long
-Repetitive work overhead

These restrictions overtime will effect your workouts, your ability to get a good night’s sleep, and your ability to play with your kids.

That’s why I never believe in chasing the pain. I want to understand why your body is compensating in the first place. And I’m committed to continuing my education because my clients deserve the best care I can provide. Every course I take gives me more tools to help people move better, hurt less, and get back to doing the things they love.
