YMCA of Steuben County Youth Development. Healthy Living. Social Responsibility. The YMCA of Steuben County is an excellent facility and is a distinguished Association!

Five noteworthy community leaders formed a vision, which then turned into a study that was administrated to determine community needs and interests in a local YMCA. The determination of the community leaders, as well as a structured plan, created a Christian based organization that was established in June of 1999. We opened the doors to the Breeden YMCA on January 3, 2000 at 5:00 a.m. We were renamed the YMCA of Steuben County in October 2010.

Congratulations to Matt Maddox on reaching 50 miles in the YMCA of Steuben County 2026 Swim Challenge!

We are happy to recognize this accomplishment! Matt has been a consistent swimmer before the challenge began.

But Matt doesn’t just swim with us, he also gives back to our YMCA community as one of our volunteer lifeguards! 🛟

Thank you, Matt, for your commitment to staying active, supporting our pool, and helping keep our YMCA community safe. We appreciate you!

Registration is open for the 2026–2027 Steuben County Wavemakers season! 🌊🏊

Whether your swimmer is just getting started with competitive swimming or ready to take the next step, we have options from Prep through Gold, plus USA Swimming and a High School option. Practices begin September 14–16 depending on group.
