Fly Tying Clinic - Saturday, March 21st
at the Jack Hernandez Fish Hatchery: 10AM to 3PM
Lampreys are one of two major food sources for trout in our waters year-round. (Sculpins being the other.) Join us this Saturday for day of "leech emersion" while we tie Dolly Llamas (one of Alaska most productive patterns) and free style Rabbit-hair Leeches. If you're looking for big fish, swinging a leech pattern is one of the best ways to find them.
Hal will have AFF's swim tank on site in case you'd like to see how your creation swims in current.

Saturday Fly Tying Clinic - February 21st - 10AM to 3PM
Location: Jack Hernandez Fish Hatchery - Reeve Blvd (off 5th Ave) and Post Road.
Coffee is on, danish pastry, cookies etc. main roads were fine driving from EagleRiver, can't account for side roads, streets... Come on out to the Jack Hernandez fish Hatchery and tie a few. Be here till 3. Hal
Don't forget tomorrow is the 3rd Saturday for the Fly Tying clinic at Hernandez Fish Hatchery Post road. Rich Johnson will be showing & teaching a number of dry flies using foam to to keep them floating on top. Parents and Grandparents this is time of year to get the little ones interested. Even a little zepco kids rod, reel, and bobber with a fly/worm THEY tied is a joy. Hals worked with his grand kids as young as 5, tying their first fly. Not a drop off baby sitting service,..... your tying or watching too, ok.
Watching weather reports, tomorrow's temperatures should drop with light snow making safer driving then today's slippery mess.
Everyone should have received email concerning members monthly meeting Monday 5th at BP energy center. Check your inbox. Also the monthly fly tying clinic will be on the 17th, usual time and location at the Hernandez Fish hatchery. It's still a miserable cold time of the year that begs for hot coffee and time on the Fly tying vise. BTW my new years resolution is to Fish more times in 26 then the number of fly rods I own. Happy New Year, hope to see you all at the monthly meeting Monday and the Fly Tying clinic on th 17th.....Hal,
