Luckily we were able to accommodate our guest and his unforeseen scheduling conflict but this means there’s a spot for you during an incredible week if you’ve been thinking about coming to Alaska Steelhead Camp. The Beast of Burden

Late September coho are always a hoot! Not our target species but never once have I heard anyone complain about hooking into a dime bright coho fresh out of the salt on a swung fly 😁

Who doesn’t see a polar shrimp and not immediately think steelhead? This one is going in the box for fall of 2026!

The BDS or Backdoor Slider. White and orange is a confidence color for me in glacial blue water as it’s visible yet natural. Break the “rules” and fish it on a cloudy day or light up the water on a bright day. Either way it’s going to be seen and look like familiar prey!
