Are we surrounding ourselves with people who encourage us, challenge us, and build us up?
Or are we allowing our limited bandwidth, time, and energy to be consumed by things that are negative, distracting, and ultimately going nowhere?
But here’s the harder question:
Are we willing to make the healthy choice when the unhealthy one is easier?
To protect our time and energy from people and things that constantly drain it?
To put down the phone.
To get outside.
To train.
To eat better.
To sleep.
To choose relationships that make us stronger.
To chase difficult things, fail sometimes, get back up, and keep moving forward.

You’re not too old. You’re not too out of shape. And you don’t have to be an athlete to start.
Research continues to show us something pretty incredible: challenging your body can help protect your brain, too. 🧠
In adults ages 65–85, six months of high-intensity interval training improved memory and learning, with some of those benefits still measurable five years later.
That’s a pretty powerful reminder of why we believe so strongly in one simple idea:
SHOW UP TODAY.
Not because everybody needs to run an ultramarathon.
Not because everybody needs to lift heavy.
And definitely not because everybody starts in the same place.
Maybe showing up today is a walk around the block.
Maybe it’s your first workout in ten years.
Maybe it’s lifting weights, running intervals, or chasing a goal you once thought was impossible.
Your starting point doesn’t matter nearly as much as your willingness to start.
That’s a huge part of why we created the Toughest Alive App.
We wanted a place for anyone and everyone, at any fitness level, to have workouts, challenges, tools and a community that helps them keep moving toward their goals.
A place where your win doesn’t have to look like somebody else’s win.
We celebrate them all. 🔥
First mile.
First workout.
First 5K.
Hundredth mile.
Getting stronger.
Getting healthier.
Simply getting off the couch and deciding that today is the day.
Because Toughest Alive has never been about being the fittest person in the room.
It’s about continuing to show up.
And when you do, we’ll be there to encourage you and celebrate every step forward.
SHOW UP TODAY. 💪

Something new is coming. 👀
We’ve been quietly building something for the people who are ready to stop waiting for motivation and start showing up for themselves.
A place to train.
A place to be challenged.
A place to find encouragement, accountability, and a community that refuses to quit.
We’re not revealing everything yet… but this Saturday, the next chapter of Toughest Alive begins.
Show Up Today.

Not every race goes according to plan.
This weekend, our family was supposed to tackle a self-supported 50-mile mountain race deep in rural Alaska. No aid stations. No cell service. Just the four of us, everything we needed on our backs, and miles of wild mountain trails.
To us, that’s pretty close to the perfect weekend.
The race was over three hours away, so the plan was simple. Wake up at 2:00 a.m., leave by 2:30. We had everything packed the night before. Gear checked. Nutrition ready. Clothes laid out. We were all set.
There was just one small problem…
Every single one of us slept through every alarm. 😅
Race over before it even started.
For a few minutes, it was tempting to be disappointed. We’d carb-loaded, planned for weeks, and were excited to take on another adventure together.
But here’s the thing: the goal was never just to cross a finish line. The goal was to spend the day together doing what we love.
So we pivoted.
Instead of 50 mountain miles, we made the most of a beautiful Alaska day with 18 miles of running, 8 miles of biking, plenty of laughs, and memories we’ll remember just as much as any race.
Sometimes the finish line changes.
The adventure doesn’t have to.
Showing up doesn’t always look the way you planned. Sometimes it looks like making the best of the day you actually have. ❤️
