The Widow/Widower Meet Up is a welcoming group where people gather to share conversation, enjoy activities, and connect with others who understand the journey of losing a spouse.

Yet, this isn't a group that focuses on mourning. We focus on sharing activities, meals, volunteering and other dynamic ways to get out and do things!

New friendships form, lunch plans are made, phone numbers are exchanged, and people find a community that extends beyond the scheduled gatherings.

With a large, active group, there's always a place to pull up a chair and someone new to meet.

Widowed recently or years ago, you're invited to join us!

There comes a moment in many families when love alone doesn't answer every question.

You want to keep caring for your spouse, parent, or loved one. You want to be there for them. But you also need time to go to a doctor's appointment, run errands, catch up on work, or simply take a breath.

That's where the Adult Day Center at Heartland of Story County, located inside the Sixty Forward Center, can help.

The Adult Day Center provides a welcoming place where participants spend the day engaged in activities, conversation, music, games, and meaningful social connection while caregivers have time to care for themselves and the responsibilities waiting outside.

If you're wondering whether it's the right fit, you don't have to make that decision alone. Schedule a visit. Bring your loved one for a partial day or a full day, stay with them if you'd like, or enjoy a cup of coffee at The Bistro while they get acquainted. It's an opportunity to see the program, meet the staff, and discover whether it feels right for your family.

Asking for support isn't giving up. It's often what makes it possible to continue being the caregiver your loved one needs.

To learn more or schedule a visit, contact Heartland of Story County.
