Focus – Increase concentration and attention. Teamwork – Teaches our students to cooperate with others to achieve a common goal while building character and friendships. Control – Students get to make good decisions while building self-confidence. Speed, Agility and Balance – Gives our students better body awareness and improves Plyometrics, core strength and fitness. Memory- Our curriculum helps students to think and make smart decisions. Coordination – We teach our students to use their legs and arm efficiently, the better coordination your child develops, the less they will be to sustain injuries. Kihido Marital Arts incorporate a mixture of martial arts including Karate, Jit Jitsu, Wrestling, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, MMA, Taekwondo, Kempo, Judo and Krav Maga. These systems give students a realistic system for personal protection in the modern world.

We started class with the lights OUT for almost an hour! 😳 But that didn’t stop the training!

Our Jiu Jitsu Ninjas turned it into a challenge—learning to feel movement, pressure, balance, and reactions without depending completely on their eyes. 👊

💡 Lights came back on and it was GO TIME!

Kihido Martial Arts is a kids-focused martial arts school serving ages 3–18, and our Jiu Jitsu program gives young students the opportunity to learn BOTH Gi and No-Gi Jiu Jitsu!

Coach Krista continues to expand her Jiu Jitsu knowledge through two different systems:

🥋 GI JIU JITSU
Training under Master Carlos Machado, bringing Gi fundamentals, control, submissions, technique, and strategy to our young students.

🤼 NO-GI JIU JITSU
Studying the No-Gi system under SIMS 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Coach Derek Stewart, bringing movement, control, transitions, submissions, and No-Gi strategy to the mats.

By bringing both systems together, we’re continuing to develop a well-rounded Jiu Jitsu program specifically designed to help kids grow on and off the mats! 💪

Our goal is bigger than just teaching techniques. We want our kids to build:

Sensei Krista has developed two great kids programs backed by over 33 years of martial arts experience, training across multiple systems, competing in everything from cage fighting to traditional martial arts tournaments, and representing Team USA on the international stage. 🇺🇸🥇

We offer two programs designed to help kids build confidence, discipline, focus, fitness, and REAL self-defense skills:

🥋 KIDS KARATE PROGRAM

Our Karate program combines training from multiple martial arts systems:

• 360 Krav Maga
• Muay Thai

Under the direction of Coach Krista, who is belted in both Jiu Jitsu systems, our students continue growing in both systems as they develop their skills.

Kids learn practical ground defense, escapes, control, positioning, and submissions while developing coordination, patience, confidence, and problem-solving skills.

Today they were working on:

🥋 Half Guard Break ➡️ Backstep Knee Ride Pass

And a big shoutout to Kei for stepping up and helping our little ninjas work through their techniques! 💪❤️ We love seeing our ninjas helping each other learn and grow on the mats.
