What does a Hockey Barn membership actually look like on a Tuesday evening?

Open the Barn app and see what’s happening. Maybe you’re booked for Guided Play, meeting friends and family for Free Play, or jumping into a Barn Battle.

Afterward, head to the Fourth Period Lounge to watch your favorite team play and hang out with friends who love the game as much as you do.

That’s life inside The Barn. You choose how you experience it.

Schedule a tour and see what we’re building for our hockey community.

Let’s talk about The Barn Floor. 🏒

It’s the first question we get, and we chose this German-engineered synthetic surface completely on purpose.

This isn't a basic shooting tile setup, it’s a world- class training floor engineered for real puck feel and precise edge work that transfers directly to your game.

By removing the limitations of traditional ice, we give you something better for daily development:

⚡️ More access to the rink.
⚡️ More high-rep skill work in the Lab.
⚡️ Continuous training while the rest of the world waits for a time slot.

Every decision here is intentional.

Questions From Our Community

How Does Synthetic Ice Compare to Real Ice?

This has easily been one of the most common questions we’ve received.

The short answer? It’s unlike anything most hockey players have ever skated on.

When we started building The Hockey Barn, we knew one thing: if the skating experience wasn’t good enough, nothing else mattered.

Every major decision we’ve made at The Hockey Barn has started with one question:

Will this create a better experience for our members?

That’s why we spent nearly a year researching synthetic ice technology and more than 12 months testing different surfaces. We weren’t looking for the least expensive option. We were looking for the best possible experience for our members.

We spoke with industry experts, watched players of all ages and skill levels skate, evaluated multiple products, and challenged every assumption before making our decision.

After nearly a year of research and more than 12 months of testing, we partnered with the manufacturer to create a purpose-built synthetic ice surface specifically for The Hockey Barn.

We weren’t interested in buying what already existed.

We wanted to build what we believed would create the best possible experience for our members.

That philosophy has guided every decision we’ve made, and this surface is no exception.

Is it identical to natural ice?

No. Nothing is.

But here’s what impressed us.

The skating mechanics translate virtually identically to natural ice. Your edges, turns, crossovers, transitions, and hockey movements all carry over the way they should.

Where you’ll notice a difference is in the glide. Depending on the skater, it performs at roughly 90–93% of the glide of natural ice, while puck glide is approximately 90% of natural ice. For us, that combination created an exceptional training environment that allows players to develop real hockey habits, build confidence, and train every day.

The best way to understand our synthetic ice isn’t by reading about it.

It’s by skating on it.

Every tour we’ve hosted has reinforced the same thing. People walk in curious, and they leave with a completely different perspective.

So here’s our invitation.

Schedule a tour. Bring your skates. Experience The Hockey Barn for yourself.

Because we believe you’ll leave understanding that this was never just about building a better synthetic ice surface.

It was about building a better hockey experience.

Coach Ian vs. Greg the Goalie 🥅

One puck. One deke. One winner.

The question is…

Did Coach Ian bury it? 👀

Questions From Our Community

Will I Actually Be Able to Get Into the Sessions I Want…or Will They Always Be Full?

This is a great question, and it’s something we’ve thought about from the very beginning.

One of the biggest advantages of a membership model is that we can see how our members are actually using The Hockey Barn. If Guided Play sessions are consistently filling up, we’ll add more Guided Play. If Barn Battles become the most popular sessions, we’ll create more opportunities to compete. If members want more Free Play or Barn IQ, we’ll adjust the schedule to meet that demand.

Our schedule isn’t fixed. It’s designed to evolve with our members because we’re not asking our members to adapt to our schedule. We’re committed to adapting our schedule to our members.

That’s one of the biggest differences between a traditional hockey facility and The Hockey Barn. We’re constantly listening, learning, and making adjustments based on how our community wants to experience hockey.

Our goal has never been to pack as many people as possible into every session. Our goal is to create an exceptional member experience by balancing capacity, expanding programming when it’s needed, and making sure our members have meaningful opportunities to train, compete, and belong.

The Hockey Barn wasn’t built around a calendar. It was built around a community, and we’ll continue evolving alongside the people who make this place special.
