We traveled a bit light. It was hot as hell. But the lads fought like warrior poets.

Rough first half. Amazing second half.

But a well-deserved win for Augusta Maddogs in the inaugural Ernie Silva Cup. Congratulations, fellas!

A special thank you to Greenville Griffins for making the trip and allowing us to buddy up with the Maddogs. You showed exactly why that promotion to Division 2 is well deserved. Give ‘em hell up in the Carolinas GU this year, Griffins!

You also showed us that karaoke is, apparently, a very skilled art.

Great rugby, great people, and exactly what club rugby should be. Thank you for the hospitality.

Something new for Georgia. Something very familiar to the rugby world.

What are Minis? Rugby for younger kids — age-appropriate, co-ed touch rugby designed to introduce ages 5–10 to the game through fun, movement and play. No tackling.

This spring, Exiles RFC is bringing the traditional rugby Minis model to Georgia with what we believe will be the first true Minis house rugby program of its kind in the state. It’s a model that has been part of rugby club culture around the world for generations.

And don’t worry about experience. Most of our kids will be complete beginners. Mom and Dad, you don’t need to know rugby either. We’ll teach you too.

Girls’ rugby is growing. And there is room to grow with it.

Exiles Girls Rugby is a new program within our club for girls ages 14 to 18. No experience is necessary. Rugby offers something different: community, confidence, teamwork, respect for yourself and others, and belonging.

Our program is women-led, with experienced coaches who have years in the game, including World Rugby coaching certifications.

Women’s rugby is growing rapidly at the college level, creating more opportunities to continue playing after high school and pursue athletic scholarships.

The Exiles are a year round 501(c)(3) nonprofit community rugby club, not a seasonal pay to play travel team. That model helps us keep playing costs considerably lower than many traditional travel sports. We’re led by a dedicated board of men and women with long histories in rugby, not dependent on the parents of one current group of players. We’re building programs designed to last.

We’re just getting started…

That’s the opportunity.

Exiles Girls Rugby. Come Belong.

It starts with a ball and a patch of grass.

And somewhere along the way, you find people who become part of your life.

The friend who answers the phone when life goes sideways. The teammate who helps open the door to a new job or career. The connection that helps a young player find the right college. Someone to laugh with when you need it most. People who notice when you’re not there, and are genuinely glad when you come back.

So many of those friendships last a lifetime.

There is a bond there that is almost impossible to explain with words.

You just know it when you’ve lived it.

Exiles RFC is very happy to see another women’s college rugby program coming to Georgia, particularly to Middle Georgia.

Wesleyan College Athletics is adding Women’s Rugby as an official athletic program, with Chris Parks, head coach of our good friends at Macon Love Rugby and a fellow Georgia Rugby Union club, chosen to lead the program.

This is a meaningful addition to the rugby pathway in our state, creating another opportunity for young women to continue playing the game at the collegiate level. We certainly hope that some of our own Exiles Academy Girls will benefit from this program and from Wesleyan College in the years ahead.

Congratulations to Christopher Parks and Wesleyan College Athletics on truly growing the game.

FIXTURES UPDATE 🏉

A change to the Men’s XVs schedule.

With Kennesaw State’s NCR schedule now set, our previously arranged November 21st fixture needed to change.

We’ll now face the Gwinnett Lions on November 21st, with home/away still TBA.

Our friendship with Gwinnett goes all the way back to the beginning of the Exiles. It will be nice to get back on the pitch with our oldest friends at the Lions.

What a tremendous visit from Max. It was great to catch up, to see him reconnect with some of the Original Exiles, and to watch him meet so many of our newer players and spend time getting to know them.

One of the highlights was seeing Max spend some time with one of our very promising U19 players and his family, offering advice and encouragement.

Club rugby is the most special sport and culture on earth. This is why. Different generations, different roles, different chapters of the same club, all connected by the game and by each other.

Safe travels, Max. It was damn good having you make the Exiles your first stop on your visit to America.
