Q: What does a Pilates & Yoga instructor do at the end of a long week of teaching?
A: Go to a yoga class! 🧘♀️✨
I finished out my work week as a student with a non-heated Vinyasa class at Infinity Hot Yoga in Johns Creek, taught by my friend Amanda Novak Curd —and it was exactly what I needed to wind down a busy week and ease into my weekend!
Amanda’s class was beautifully themed, accessible to all levels, and thoughtfully sequenced, with a focus on progressive strength building, proper form, and mindful movement. I especially appreciated how she offered options that allowed everyone to meet the practice where they were, while still creating opportunities to build strength and challenge themselves.
Her sequencing was intelligent and intentional, and the class was both grounding and surprisingly powerful. 💪🏼
And I was genuinely surprised by how well Infinity is able to cool the yoga room down for their non-heated classes! I’ve been to other “hot” studios where the room never quite gets cool enough, but Infinity really delivers a true non-heated experience.
They offer heated and non-heated yoga, Pilates, and group fitness classes, so there are lots of ways to move, strengthen, stretch, and connect.
A great class, a sweet space, and the bonus of supporting a fellow instructor and friend. Thank you, Amanda! 💕
I’ll definitely be back! ✨

Soothing Summer Sizzle 🔥❄️
A Pitta-balancing yoga practice for cooling the mind
Summer is here—and so is the sizzle. ☀️🔥
In Ayurveda, summer’s heat can naturally amplify Pitta, the dosha associated with digestion, assimilation, knowledge and transformation.
Pitta is our inner fire—the heat, light and illumination that fuel our passion, vision, discipline and ability to transform our intentions into action.
But just like an outdoor fire, our inner fire needs tending.
The heat of the season, what we consume through food and information, and the passions that drive us can all stoke Pitta’s flame. When that fire becomes too intense, it can show up asfrustration, irritability, anger, inflammation, burnout or feeling a little too “hot-headed.”
So this summer, instead of adding fuel to the fire, let’s practice soothing the summer sizzle. 🌿
Try Downward Facing Dog with a block beneath your forehead for gentle support. Allow your head to rest. Soften your jaw. Relax your effort. Breathe slowly and imagine releasing excess heat and tension with every exhale.
The intention isn’t to put out your fire.
It’s to tend it with awareness.
Create enough space within yourself for your passion to remain kindled—so it can illuminate your path, fuel your creativity and help you pursue your goals without burning you out.
✨ Let your fire light up your life, not burn it up.
This summer, may you find the grace to cool the mind, soften the intensity and nurture your inner flame.
Soothing the summer sizzle, one breath at a time. 🌿🔥❄️

After a long few weeks, this was exactly what my body, mind, and spirit needed. ✨
I spent some time soaking in a beautiful Restorative Yoga, Reiki & Sound Healing experience at Many Paths Wellness in Roswell, GA, and left feeling completely relaxed, renewed, and zen. 🧘♀️💫
One of the most incredible parts of the experience was stepping inside a giant brass singing bowl and feeling the vibration move up through my entire body. ✨ The sound wasn’t just something I heard—it was something I could feel, from my feet upward, creating a full-body vibrational experience unlike anything I’ve experienced before.
There is something so powerful about allowing yourself to simply receive—to rest, soften, and let someone else hold the space for you for a change.
The sweet energy of this yoga studio made the experience even more special. A beautiful reminder that self-care isn’t selfish... sometimes, it’s exactly what we need to restore our energy and return to ourselves. 💗
A heartfelt thank you to Crystal, Patti, and Jessica for creating and holding such a beautiful experience. I’m so grateful for your gifts and the care you bring to this community. 🙏✨
If you’re in the Roswell area, I highly encourage you to check out Many Paths Wellness and experience this special space for yourself. Jessica Otieno has cultivated such an incredible community in the heart of downtown Roswell.
Feeling grateful, grounded, and deeply restored. And already looking forward to my next visit. 💕

One recipe I’ve been making on repeat is an Ayurvedic Summer Red Cabbage, Mango and Avacado “Cole Slaw” from Laura Plumb | Jyo, Ayu, Med book Ayurvedic Cooking for Beginners. It’s crisp, refreshing, and full of vibrant color. It makes a wonderful side dish to my Red Lentil Burgers or a satisfying light meal in and of itself.
This is the kind of food I want more of in my own life—and the kind of Ayurvedic approach to nourishment I’ll be sharing along side, Kim Valeri at our Longevity Retreat in Punta Mita this March. 🌿

Sometimes the best opportunities are the ones you never see coming. ✨
This week I had the chance to step in at the last minute to teach a AvalOM Pilates Mat class at Avalon in Alpharetta after another instructor was unexpectedly unable to teach.
I’ll admit...I was a little nervous.
I’m used to teaching in the cozy environment of a studio, but this was a completely different experience. We were surrounded by restaurants, shops, passersby, and all the energy of a bustling summer evening. Add a microphone, and suddenly it felt like everyone could hear me. 😅
But something beautiful happened.
As soon as we began to move and breathe together, all of the distractions seemed to disappear. The conversations, the traffic, the curious onlookers—they all faded into the background. I found myself completely present, doing what I love most: helping people connect with their bodies through mindful movement.
Yes, it was warm, but the gentle evening breeze was a welcome reminder to soften, breathe, and enjoy the moment.
What touched me most was seeing so many people gather in community, setting aside an hour in the middle of a busy week to care for themselves. In a world that constantly asks us to do more, choosing to pause, move, and simply be is a powerful act.
Thank you to everyone who rolled out a mat and shared your practice with me. And thank you for reminding me that growth often begins just outside our comfort zone. 🤍✨🤍✨🤍

Thank you to everyone who made my day so special with your birthday wishes, thoughtful gifts, sweet messages, and phone calls. I felt so loved and am truly grateful for each and every one of you. 💛
This year, I gave myself the gift of self-care. I took the day off from teaching and became the student instead of the teacher—practicing what I preach by choosing movement, community, and filling my own cup. I spent the morning with the incredible group who inspires me week after week at Old Atlanta Park.
A huge thank you to Amanda Curd for subbing my classes so I could enjoy the day from the other side of the room. She led an amazing Pilates followed by Yin class, beautifully weaving together movement, community, and connection. What a gift it was to simply show up, learn, and move alongside such wonderful people. 💪 🧘♀️ 💝
The celebration continued with lunch Hen Mother Cookhouse with my sweet Ava, a relaxing mani-pedi Tips and Toes - The Nail Studio and a wonderful massage at Balanced Body Massage Therapy and Bodywork in Roswell, happily delegating a few “honey-do” projects to my sweet and handy husband, and ending the day exactly as it should be—staying up way past my bedtime binge-watching a chick-flick series with Ava into the wee hours of the night.
Birthdays aren’t about getting older—they’re about celebrating another trip around the sun and taking time to appreciate the people and moments that make life so meaningful. My heart is full. Here’s to another year of health, laughter, meaningful connections, and continuing to practice what I preach. 💜✨💜

A little overdue...but I’m so excited to finally share this! ✨
Back in March, I officially completed my 500-hour Comprehensive Pilates Certification through Club Pilates! 🎉
I’ve been STOTT Pilates Mat trained since 2005, and completing the comprehensive certification has been a goal of mine for years. The timing was never quite right—until recently. ❤️
The 450-hour certification was both rigorous and incredibly rewarding, combining approximately 150 hours of online coursework in anatomy and Pilates methodology with extensive self-practice, observation, practice teaching, assistant teaching, and a comprehensive practical exam. Every hour challenged me, strengthened my teaching, and deepened my appreciation for the Pilates method.
I’m now certified to teach:
✨ Reformer
✨ Springboard
✨ Chair
✨ Spine Corrector
✨ Ladder Barrel
✨ Cadillac
After earning my certification, I joined the Club Pilates team and now teach weekly classes at the Cu***ng, Johns Creek, and Sugar Hill studios. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my passion for movement with this wonderful community. 🤍
Pilates has transformed my own body and wellness. It has helped relieve hip and knee pain, maintain strength and muscle tone, improve balance, and beautifully complement my yoga and Ayurvedic practices.
I’m deeply grateful to my instructors, mentors, family, practice clients, and students who encouraged and supported me throughout this journey.
This certification builds upon more than two decades of teaching movement, and it’s just one chapter of my Pilates story. It has become an essential part of the way I help others move, heal, and age well.
Here’s to lifelong learning, mindful movement, and helping others discover the incredible benefits of Pilates. 💙
